Is a horizontal suspension tug normal?
I bought a 2006 Maxima that someone rebuilt from NYC impound auction. 2017 Engine swapped, new clutch, and a few other things. I took it to Acuna to get some suspension work done. A junior mechanic forgot to tighten the nuts on the rear shock and it broke the studs off. I got it repaired at a suspension specialty shop. Since I can't prove it was the junior tech at the other shop, I just decided to eat the 1500 peso bill from the specialty shop, no big deal. I have replaced the shocks/struts, control arms and steering rack bushing. I can comfortably take turns at 100 MPH (160 km/h) but when I hit a bump, I get a horizontal tug. My OTHER Max has coilovers, so I only get a rough ride, but it holds the road like a dream. Is that horizontal tug normal when you hit a bump for OEM-style struts with original springs? The suspension geometry just feels a bit weird on the OEM style suspension.
