7th Gen pics at the dealership
i went to a nissan dealership yday bcuz my dad wanted to buy an altima and i saw the 7th gen maxi sittin there so i decided to take some pics... the pics are from my crappy camera fone...

when pics of the new maxi came out online i was sort of disappointed in the redesign... IMO it actually does not look that bad in person... the only thing i would change are those headlights... but other than that the new gen is relly not that bad...

when will your dealer allow test drives? the more orger reviews we get of the driving experience, the better.
also... do the back half-windows have 4DSC logos like the press photo (and all 3rd Gens) did?

im not sure when they will allow test drives cuz they only had one max there and no im pretty sure the windows didnt hav the 4DSC logos...
Shoey1 - The Civic looks fine. Not a bad car. But look at the bottom part of the rear of the '09 Maxima. No other car looks like this. The bottom part of the rear of the Civic says 'very nice econobox', while the bottom part of the rear of the Maxima says 'catch me if you can!'
I definitely want to stop by the dealership pictured above sometime soon then. Where those pics were taken was the dealer I actually got my 08 from. Got a nice deal on it but my father's car has got to go soon.
When I first saw pictures of the '09 I really did not like it. But a few weeks ago I went to the dealership to get some parts and they had just received one. It really looked nice in person. I really like the rear end of the car. The one at the dealership by me did not have the 4DSC sticker either. Maybe it has to do with the trim level of the car?
One of the the dealers that I have been to has put the stickers on the car window. The stickers were on all 3 that they had, 1 had the premium package and the other 2 were standard SV, one with tech package and the other without. The other 2 dealers I have been to did not have the stickers on the windows. Maybe the dealer has the stickers and can put them on at their leisure? I have yet to see the sport package on any of the 7 Max's that I have seen....
The ones I saw at the dealer did have them but they looked very cheap and ugly, not like the original ones on the 3rd gens. They almost looked like someone just had them made and stuck them on there themselves.
The '4DSC' sticker situation is strange. Some put on by dealers. Some put on at the factory. On every car at some dealers. On no cars at other dealers. On both sides of some cars, neither side of some cars, and only one side of some cars.
I feel this sticker should be applied only at the factory, and should be only on cars with the 'Sports' package. Some might even feel it should be restricted to cars with both 'Sports' package AND summer tires. That is the only way it would have any real meaning.
Situations like this make me think back to the North Carolina state motto: esse quam videri (to be rather than to seem).

, on the 90-94 both models had the 4DSC sticker including the softly sprung GXE and stiffer SE (for some reason the 89's did not have the sticker). To most other than us here, the Max is a Max and Nissan wants that "4DSC" image potrayed on all Maxima's!
MONTE 01&97 SE - I have no problem with that, because I will be getting an '09 with the Premium package, and I would still like the '4DSC' stickers, even though I realize the Premium version is not truly a 4DSC.
Looks very nice. I like the rims alot. its pretty cool how the front is pretty flat but has an angle at the same time. The small spoiler gives a it cool look. Hope someone blacks out the whole car or that nissan make a black on black edition. The only thing i realy dont like is the length of the front and rear lights.
I'm glad there are those such as Mikey D and SmokinMax01 that don't like this car. The fewer folks rushing out to buy it means the better deal those of us who absolutely love this car will be able to wrangle from the dealer.
It is interesting that many posters here were not very impressed with this '09 Maxima when they saw the photos. But most of those changed their tune completely once they saw the car in person; looks nothing like the pictures.
Although I buy a Maxima the first year of every generation, I will admit this '09 is the first Maxima to truly excite me since generation 3. The new 'Coke bottle' shape gives a very aggressive and athletic look (in person, not in photos). It is very nice to know the only decision I have left to make is exterior color; Radiant Silver or Winter Frost? Maybe I should expand my garage and get both?

A few days back I happened to take a quick look at the 09 Maxima when I went for an oil change to my dealership. This was a SV with sport package, priced a little over $35k. I did not test drive but sat inside. The steering wheel is smaller than my 07 SL. When sitting in the driver's seat or when looking to the right at the front passenger's seat, the car did not seem/feel smaller than my 07. However, when I looked back or sat in the back seats, the car seemed clearly smaller than my 07.
The interior quality did not seem any better than my 07 SL. I do not know if that 09 had premium leather. I hate the design of the dash. Nissan did this to the Altima first and then to the 09 Maxima. Why does the dash need to fall out like that? Why can't it be smooth flowing like in a Infiniti G (http://www.infiniti.com/g_sedan/phot...or_photos.html) or Infiniti M (http://www.infiniti.com/m/photos/interior_photos.html)? My 07 dash design (w/o navi) is wayyy better than the 09 dash design.
IMO, the exterior looks sporty due to its 8-shape but not too classy. It seems a bit overdone to me just like the new Accord. It is missing the smoothness of a classy sedan that is typical of a Lexus. Overall, not too sure about this car, especially given its fuel efficiency.
Before the 09 Maxima was released, I had hoped for something that looked like this -- a fine blend of class and sportiness.

Needless to say, I am a bit disappointed.

I would say its definitely more popular than the 6th gen when it first came out. I seen once when i went to nearby dealer but never on the road...
With some bigger rims, this car can look amazing. Interior is already great, transmission options are the only weakness.

Do I dare detect a little Hate??
love the rims...they look SIIIICK...
however, nasty gap between the wheels, and I'm not sold on the camry lookalike...also I think it looks less agressive than the 5th or 6th Gens...just my thoughts guys

I'm not hating at all, I was just making a true statement on what happened that day.
As I drive by, i told my gf that it was a nice looking camry (it was in all white and slick looking) until I drove past it and noticed it have a nissan emblem.

Despite many long years of being the quintissential 'Mr. Milquetoast' sedan, the Camry is now a very decent-looking vehicle. Saying the '09 Maxima has some similarity to the current Camry is no longer the insult it once was. Notwithstanding that, I have looked very hard from every distance between one foot and a hundred feet at this new '09 Maxima in every available color, and the 'Camry' thought never once entered my mind. This '09 has an aggressive and athletic look the Camry just can't match.

I agree 100% with you bud
One of my close friends has a camry (think it's the SE model) and besides the crappy looking dual exhaust pipes, nothing really stands out. The car is made to "look" sporty but is far from it. Interior looks sub-par for the $$ you are going to shell out. My wife's 05 Mazda 3 GT has more *****...seriously...

Performance on the Camry is as useless as **** on a nun...(not sure where I heard that)

Cheers!
