My husband just bought me a 2011 S, i love the vehicle, traded my 05 volvo v70 with 275,000 miles ...any who, bought a carfax on the vehicle after the purchase was originally sold to Rental company, had one accident rear ended another vehicle minor damage. Car seems fine has 58,000 miles, the ? I have is when the car is cold after stopping at light when accelerating the word BATTERY comes on near the RPM monitor, only stays on until RPM reaches 1800. Any ideas on what this is trying to tell me. Sorry this reply is so long.
Thanks for any help.
OK guys, I have been away for a couple weeks. I poked around some of the threads and have seen a couple people picked up 09's.
What do you think of them after a couple real miles not just a 10 minute test drive?
Any mods right out of the box?
Even though its a brand new car, how was the dealer with pricing since the auto industry is in the tank?
Throw up some pics!
Thanks guys,

I brought 1 in Dec04,2013 as a Xmas present for myself I payed 14500. for it I put down 1grand cash plus my rusted out 05 Altima that would've cost me more too fix then to get rid of so when the dust settled I spent about 10grand for the max with a warranty for 7yrs 100k B2Bumper
I payed 17,999 for mine with 57,xxx miles on the odometer. I like the cvt transmission a lot. I disagree with the reviews on this car completely. Its nimble yet it roars. Sure theres roll in the chassis but thats what experience is for.
Right now, it's a love/hate relationship. This car has little to NO aftermarket goodies. Pisses me off. This is hands down the most difficult car to build. Only stillen. ah.. custom custom custom. ...

Back in the day, the whole reason I bought a 4th gen was because of the aftermarket support and the fact a Supercharger kit was available for it. Research pays off!

My hunch is the CVT just kills any interest in aftermarket go fast goodies.

This should be in the owners manual, look online for a PDF if you don't have the actual hard copy.
First post here as I just bought my wife a Certified 2011 SV Black on Black. Sorry for terrible pic. Purchased sight unseen from a dealer in Indianapolis. They shipped the car right to my front door in Charlotte. The car carrier barely made it into the neighborhood!!
We had 2 Acura TL's before going Nissan. I just love this car and for the money there is nothing close. Here's my only question. I plan on taking it in to local dealer to "introduce" myself to the service team. What common issues with these cars should I have dealer check out while under warranty?

Have a look in the 7th gen forum, at least with the 2009-2010 I saw posts about the drivers seat rocking while braking/accelerating.
Picked up a Brand New 2014 SV Sport + Tech.
Hit 100 on the ODO yesterday. So far loving it.
I just picked up mine about a month ago, same color. Mine is a Premium/Tech package, and I have got to about 1300 miles so far. I am loving it, other than the stupid driver's seat rocking issue.

Just curious, how long far into your ownership did you notice that you had the driver's seat issue? I just purchased a new 2014 Maxima S with the Limited Edition Package this past weekend, and I only have 200 miles on it so far. Is the issue more pronounced on leather seats?

No seat issues here with 7k on my SV Sport.
What's the "limited edition package"?

What's the "limited edition package"?
Phew. Okay, awesome. If anything, I'll be sure to point it out to the dealer. So far, so good but the car is still less than a week old!
And the Limited Edition Package is just a package on the S trim that includes smoked Xenon headlights, dark-accented 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and fog lights. The reason I asked concerning leather seats is because I have the "suede" seats, and thought the issue was more prevalent on the leather seats.
Its just an awesome car.. but I faced a problem with NVIGATION system since my car is american.. and I live in United Arab Emirates.. I asked U.A.E dealer about installing United Arab Emirates (or Arab Gulf Region) maps on my car but they told me that their Japanese nissan nav. system is different than the one in the american nissan cars!! and they couldn't help me

I noticed it about 100 miles in. I have just not had the time to go back to the dealer until now, only for them to jerk me around on it. I still have not been able to go to another dealer, maybe this weekend or next week.
As far as the difference between the cloth and leather seats, I am not sure if there is a difference. Does not make sense that if its the seat harness that needs to be replaced, that it would be different for cloth vs leather. That is unless the cloth is not power, or has less movement options than the leather?

That's interesting, thanks for the reply. I did some more research, thanks to the forum, and it relates to the seat rails. Someone did mention that not adjusting the height of the seat did mitigate the issue as there is less strain on the seat rail, so that may raise questions to whether the (heavier?) leather perforated seats with cooling and heating affect it further.
I am not even sure what material the seats are in my vehicle, but cloth, vinyl, maybe even suede, still have the same functions as the leather-appointed seats sans heating and cooling.
Just got a 2013 SV with Sport Package in April for my birthday. Actually it was delivered on my birthday .
I had a 96 Maxima manual before this and absolutely loved the car.
Needless to say this one is a huuuge improvement and I love it.
The only downside for me is that they never made a manual version for this generation, but I hear talks about a Nismo 8th gen so maybe later I will trade this in for that.
So far the car was perfect no issues yet and I have 11000 KM on the dash at the moment.
As stated above not that many mods for it on the market at this time.
My hunch is the CVT just kills any interest in aftermarket go fast goodies.
Exactly my thoughts.
I have been moaning about the CVT/ETC cutoff for the past week, but have begrudgingly learned to accept it. Did a HID upgrade and CAI but really don't see much point in spending much more $$ until the ECT issue can be resolved, looks like it probably will NOT be resolved, everything keeps looping back to the CVT.
Paid $20K for a 2011 SV @33K miles. Certified sport and tech packages are hard to find in this area.
Other thoughts:
The BOSE stereo system is a bit underwhelming, no real fidelity, still getting used to the forward stage, it's not BAD but was hoping for better i.e. 5th gen.
The car handles pretty well, will be adding a RSB in the future, sounds like good bang for the buck per posts on this site.
I'm 6'4" 230, the Max has ample room, no cramped feeling, fairly comfortable seats, like the phone/stereo controls on the steering wheel, heated seats + steering wheel will be nice in the winter.
All in all I think the car is a good value for $20K, lots of features, decent power (sans CVT), and is easy on the eye, I like the lines.
Plan on going to Mobile one synthetic when the dealer oil gets to 3K.
Just wish the mods were as easy as past generations. :sigh:
Just got this one with 6 miles on it and it was built this month! Love it so far. Amazing rebates on the new ones so much so that a used '14 was more expensive with less options. Here's my new one.
I bought mines July 1st and it is taking me some time to get use to the cvt. I'm so use to 6-speed automatic transmissions. Other than that, I love my car's appearance.

I just bought 14 with sport+tech package fully loaded and I love it. Black on black with LED light strip on under carriage. It was the last shipment of current generation maximas off the truck and I pulled off plastic wrap that covers the car from the Nissan Factory. It drives amazing and I already am nearing 1000miles in less than 3 weeks. It's a strong car
I picked it up on the 25th! not the 15th... OK ... I come from driving a 2012 GMC Canyon Z71 and before that I had an 07 Jeep Wrangler then a 99 Jeep wrangler. So I've never really been a car type of guy. But circumstances dictate that I needed some more MPG's. Found the 14 Maxima S to be in my budget and really like it THOUGH it needs some styling improvements as far as extras go... but that's what I like to do, make it mine so... I've had it for about 9 hours right now and still like it! LOL I really look forward to seeing what everyone else has and what ya'll are doing to them. Thanks!
Just got a 2014 Maxima SV. This is my first Nissan and love it. I regret not getting the Tech package but at least I have the Bose speakers. I might add a spoiler. My dealership said that they'll charge me $350 for it including install. \
Fairly new here, bought this 2014 few months ago. Absolutely love it. My only gripe is the lack of bluetooth audio streaming which is in the tech package I think? Mine does not have that.

Being a big guy I wanted a big car, Jeep Grand Cherokee was my first pick on what I wanted BUT being really picky in my interior comfort whilst watching my wallet I determined the Grand Cherokee wasn't for me. I decided to gear towards Japanese so Nissan was my go-to. The 2015 Murano is so beautiful, but once again the price tag after everything was added on was just nuts for me.
Completely happy finding my Used 2012 Nissan Maxima SV with Tech Package that only had 23.3K miles on it. Bose sound(always been a fan of Nissan for it's collaboration), big navigation system that also subs as a DVD player, heated seats & steering wheel, and the MOST IMPORTANT THING in this 4 door sport sedan was the ABUNDANCE of space for me. I was happy with my purchase, and still happy!
Only critique on it is that I wish it had more kick and horsepower. But I'll take the luxurious interior over a bigger engine anytime.
so i bought the 2014 SV sport package with tech package, fully loaded.
I love this car! The car really handles well and in manual mode its fun to shift. It has great acceleration. I plan to make some mods but pearl white metalic with graphite rims, tinted windows (a must) and moonroof wind deflector (another must), the car looks sweet.
Picked up one of the remaining 2014 models over the weekend. SV Premium with tech, Silver on charcoal with spoiler. Traded in my 2008, got a great deal on my trade and new car. This is the first new car I've ever had. I know the 16 will be nice, but no deal like this! Love it so far!
^^^Buy a AGM battery and sand down and repaint your battery hold down. You will not run into that issue again.
You read my mind. Its the 1st thing im going to do. This may be a dumb question and i admit i haven't researched it myself at all but...are AGM batteries good in the winter?...more specifically canadian -30c cold??
