Iphone Issues-other
using Bluetooth with 3G iPhone
Every since I paired up my 3G iPhone with my '06 maxima, my callers are telling me that they can't hear me that good and that I sound distant. I can hear them just fine. And the volume on my iphone is all the way up. Anyone else have this same issue. I've tried researching this and I've seen other cars (not Nissan) with this type of issue but what about Nissan vehicles? It's frustrating since I have to take it off of bluetooth so they can hear me and I'm not screaming in the car so they can.
Well bring up an old thread I wanted to get some updates on folks who have been using the PN15-Nis or the PXAMG. I tried the PA15-NIS on mine and it was acting all kinds of strange. Wouldn't connect up on the SAT all the time, and I couldn't get the Folder Options sorted out. Took it back out and was wondering about the PXAMG. Anyone have any updates and how it is working out. The PA15-NIS was recommended by some local shops around here, but I was not impressed with it at all. Possibly I had a defective one. But I am willing to try the PXAMG if it is good to go and works for some folks. Thanks HoustonQX3
I just got a 2011 Maxima with the USB input and no navigation. When I plug my old school 4th generation Ipod into the USB, the Maxima's screen says "check connected device" and won't do anything. From the car manual, it looks like my Ipod is too old? Has anyone gotten this ipod to work through the Usb?
THanks

I just got back from a 350 mile road trip in my g/f's Ford Focus. Her car has a USB plug just like our 2010 Maximas. The whole trip I played my iPhone to see if I would have any similar problems. Just as I figured, not one problem the whole trip.
This really leads me to believe that it's the Maxima and not my Iphone. Right now I am waiting on the dealership to contact Nissan Monday about this issue and get feedback from them. Hopefully they have some good information or else I will have to prove this is an issue myself.
If come Monday nothing goes as I would hope I plan on taking a couple steps myself to get to the bottom of this. I will go back to the dealership next Saturday and try my phone on some of the new maximas on the lot. I also plan on filling up my g/f's iPhone with as many of the same songs I fan fit and see if hers flakes out aswell. If it does I will take both phones with me to the dealership and show them it's not just my phone.
To sum it up, I know there is an issue and if Nissan is not aware of it yet I'm not going to sit back and just ignore it, I'm going to try many different things to eleminate possible causes for this issue untill I get it resolve.
Any feedback from other members like Idok with a 2010 maxima using the USB connection with an Iphone will greatly help me in my search.
1. Are you as well having an issue? Yes or No
2. Even if you have NO PROBLEMS could you give me info on your iPhone.
A) what generation iPhone is it? 2g , 3g , or 3gs
B) what is the capacity or the iPhone? 4gb, 8gb, 16gb, or 32gb?
C) how full is your phone with songs? actual songs
D) what firmware are you running? You can find in Settings:about:
Any information people could share with me if yours works perfect or if you too are having a problem would greatly help me eliminate possible causes for this error.
Thank you for your time.

2) 3G, 8GB, 353 songs
3) Version 3.1.2
2010 Maxima with Premium and Tech.
I see the same issues as reported above. Additionally, now my IPhone phonebook is corrupted when displayed through the car (names are replaced with unknown hex strings)

I was able to use the up/down track to control the Pandora app. The only thing is you have to use the cellphone to see what song is playing as that will not transmit over.
Turn the input to Bluetooth streaming...then launch Pandora on the iphone and it will audio stream the feed to the Maxima. I had a 2010 SV with Tech and did it all the time.

I am new and unable to create a new thread...hoping to find some help here.
I have an '11 SV that I just took home this weekend. I am trying to get the BT audio to work from my DroidX phone. I can get the BT phone working fine, however I cannot figure out how to get it to play audio. Anyone have any ideas or can help me find the answer?

I believe so, I hit AUX and it goes to XM1-->XM2--->XM3--->Music Box (which is empty)---> iPod (when/if it's connected). I get nothing for Bluetooth audio

I have an iPod which works beautifully when plugged into USB however I only use the iPod for the gym and the library on it is way smaller than on my DX. Also, I want to be wireless.
I don't think it would really make a difference but just to test try unplugging the iPod and cycling the AUX button again.
Both on my old 2010 Maxima and 2011 Murano cycling the AUX button it will bring up the BT input. Both of the vehicles have the technology package, does yours?

I am not sure, I have the backup monitor but not the Navigation. I'll try it again with the iPod unplugged...I know it's got to be possible somehow LOL
I could pair my iPhone 4 with my new 2011 MAX SV Tech with Navigation and it's working flawlessly, but I can't stream audio when I am playing musics. I press AUX button and it says on the screen no bluetooth device is connceted.
In my iPhone after the successful pair I get a new bluetooth paired device as "My Car".
What should I do to stream audio over Bluetooth?

I had to learn this the hard way but there is always work arounds. Connect your audio like an iPod or iPad through the USB and connect your phone via bluetooth for calling. Sorry that you can't use the same item for both on bluetooth.
You can only do one or the other. If you connect your phone to accept bluetooth calls, it wont play audio. Vice versa. If you connect your phone to play audio via bluetooth, it won't do calls.

Thank you guys for your replies. So, if I want to play audio do I have to delete the first pair which it was for phone calls and pair it again as an audio device, or there is an option to swap between the two with a single pair?
No you don't, I have a 2011 sv premium tech. You just need to look through the menu, there is a option to turn on audio BT. That will let you receive calls and listen to music. In other words, listen to Pandora through BT and then receive a call when one comes in. Hang up call when done and continue on pandora where you left off

You are right but the aux wont work with the phone when BT is active. I'm sure we all agree that going through AUX sounds way better than a BT connection since AUX is a hardwire. I would just leave the BT for phone calls and anything audio like video or music should go through AUX.
I don't know about you but I think BT sounds better than AUX and it is so much more convenient.
OK, I got it working now.
I had to go to Settings>> Bluetooth>> Connected Devices and selecting Audio Player rather than Handsfree Phone.
Now I can listen to musics from my iPhone and make/answer calls at the same time.
Thank you guys for your tips.

I was just going to suggest you do that because I can do both in my g37 and I'm pretty sure we have the same setup.
iPhone 4 + USB Connection???
I have a USB port in the center console and it's working fine with USB Flash and I can play musics from the car audio system, but when I connect my iPhone 4, the system detects it and I get all the folders which are inside the iPod but they are empty, and also the iPhone gets charged.
I get this message on the iPhone when it's connected to the USB port

Anybody tried it and got it working? or the iPhone 4 is not supported?

Mine works just fine. I used to get that a lot when I would try to plug in using an aftermarket USB cable. Are you using the stock cable that came with the iPhone? Try another USB cable. One thing you can do so you can do both video and audio is go out and buy the USB Component set up from Apple. That is how I'm set up and iPad 1, iPad 2 and the iPhone 4 all work for both audio and video.
Anyone without the BT audio have an issue when calls come in through BT and audio keeps playing? I'm running my iphone through the USB and when a call comes in I have both audio and the phone call on at the same time. I have to go to my phone and press pause to stop the audio so I can listen to the phone conversation.
Really weird and since I didn't buy the tech package on my 2010 Premium, I have no control over BT audio. Any ideas???
