I got mine in black...even though I was very close to getting the dark slate. I'm happy with my choice.

Dark Slate

I choose the dark slate and I LOVE IT!!!!! I have always been a huge fan of Black and I have owned a black car and motorcycle in the past and when they are CLEAN they are soooooo hot, but that's the point "WHEN" they are clean........it's just so hard to stay that way. After a while you start to see all the imperfections and swirls.........so then I fell in love with silver particularly the dark shades of Graphite, Charcol, Granite, Dark Slate, Mineral Gray and shade of gray!!!! Here is my baby!!!

Do you have remote start? and If you do, how is that working with the Intelligent key system? Did a dealer install it? I miss my remote start!

I haven't seen many yet in my area (Jersey SHore). Which is nice, because I am getting a lot of stares. I came from a '05 Maxima SL, black/black. What a difference.
I totally agree. i tinted mine and it look awful nice. top part of whole car is black and it looks cool with white exterior. I also came from
04 G35x black/black . i still think black is nice, too. but i want to try dark blue next time

Yup I got Remote Start on my MAX

Yes I do have a VIPER Remote Start 5901 system in my 2009 MAX. I did not have the dealer install it they had no clue, and the shop that they send all their alarm installs did not have all the information they needed to make it happen. After tons of internet searching I finally found the information needed to have the alarm installed and I took it to Creative Auto Sounds. They are a certified Viper installation shop with a Master Technician in the back. It was a bit pricey but totally worth it since I live in the middle of no where Missouri where the temperature the other morning was 4 degrees with the wind chill brrrrrrrr!

The system works with an IDATA interface module which replecates the presence of the module being there. When you get in the vehicle with the module you press the brake and you are ready to go. IF you don't have the FOB key you press the brake or push start and the vehicle will shut down. All in all absolutely the best mod I have put in the MAX so far!!!!!

One of the main reasons I bought this car, 09 Maxima SV over the G35x was it came in the Navy Blue with the charcoal interior. I love blue. There are just too many black, grey, silver, and white cars on the road. This world needs a little color

Very good choice on the Navy Blue, odly enough my favorite color is blue....but when it comes to my ride I have to go with the Dark Slate, deep rich gray colors. I am sure your ride is sweet though ride on!!!!!

Hopefully someone can help me out with this question...

Does anybody own the Mystic Jade color, particularly with the premium package (to see the contrast in colors with the dual moon roof). I am going to be buying my Max next month and am trying to pick my top 3 color choices and the only color I have never seen (except the fake pic on the nissan site which is not always too accurate and does not show any detail) is Mystic Jade. If anyone has any pics of this color, can you please post them as to help me with my decision. So far my top 3 colors are white, dark slate, and blue, but I have a feeling that Mystic Jade may bump blue out if I can actually see what it looks like and if it looks as good as I am hoping (I am a fan of green tints in cars, aka "jade").

Thanks for your help.

Nitro,
my suggestion is for you to visit a local dealer, pick a larger one (dealer) and check out each color in person. If you are looking at a picture, you will almost never get the color exactly. Between the camera/flash and computer monitor, the color will come across much different than in person. This is especially true for darker colors.
The good news is that inventories are piling up, so there is a fare chance that you will see all possible colors. The dealer that I recently went to in North Haven CT certainly has almost every combo on the lot.
Dont take it the wrong way, I am just telling you what I would do.
good luck,
Max

nitro - If you were talking black or white, or almost any of the Maxima colors other than Mystic Jade, I would be trying to help you here. But this Mystic Jade is not something that can be easily pinned down in words or photos.

The first time I saw a Mystic Jade last July, I thought it was a Dark Slate. Then I wandered a few cars away, and saw a slightly different shade of slate, looked at the window sticker and saw that second car was Dark Slate. So then I went back toward the car I had thought was a Dark Slate, and, coming from a different angle this time, the color looked different that the first time I saw it; sort of a dark dusty emerald. The sticker said Mystic Jade.

I walked around that car several times, and actually felt almost a cold chill come over me; on that day, at that time, I swear that car looked slightly different in color from different angles. From some angles, it was very nearly Dark Slate. From one angle, I actually saw a lavender tint. But from many angles, I saw a hint of dusty emerald.

I am not a big fan of the occult, so I eased away from that car, glancing back several times to see if it was changing colors again.

Maxud nailed this. Don't even consider a Mystic Jade until you have seen one in person. On a bright day. From several angles.

Well I picked up the only Tuscan sun/Latta interior the dealer had. SV with premium + Tech package. The best thing about this color, I think it stands out from all the others colors, and really shows the cars lines better. I loved that color every since my '02. The only problem is, I had the smoke colored tint which made the car look great. Now with the dual panel roof, i'm guessing if i got the smoke color it would not blend as well with the black colored roof. will post pictures soon

I really like the Tuscan Sun with latte interior, and it definitely does offset the dark double-panel roof very nicely. My dealer had one like that last time I was on his lot, and it caught my attention. Unfortunately, I live in a hot climate, so I had to opt for Winter Frost. Darn these broiling summers . . .

As to the tint, from outside the car, all tints look pretty much the same to me (black). From inside the car, you can't see the exterior color (except maybe a tad of the hood), so I would think the smoke tint should not clash noticably from either outside or inside the car. But then you are probably more discriminating than I am.

If I see a 'WHITE and DUAL MOON ROOFS' coming at me, I will know it is either NiteCrawler, or I am seeing my car in a mirror (mine is exactly like that).

Morning everyone,

I've been lurking for a while, but reading all this valuable information. I just ordered my '09 Maxima and it should be here by the end of March. Just a comment about the colours. I think the colours we have up here (Canada) differ, but perhaps only by name. So when I took a look I was torn between the Ink Blue and Satin White. My previous car was Silver and I really liked it, but wanted a change.

What sold it for me, was similar to what other people mentioned. The Satin White just made the lines 'pop' and I felt it looked more agressive. Also when I took one home for the night they gave me the Ink Blue version and when I looked at the door jambs ... the ammount of water spotting and dirt just turned me off from a darker colour. So much more maintenance.

i agree the white looks very agressive, especially with tinted windows and some nice wheels.

I've always had black or dark gray vehicles before this. But with the Maxima I decided early on that I wanted silver. I'm very happy with the choice. I can't believe how much less maintenance is involved with a silver car. I almost feel guilty.

I have to say I absolutely love the white with all black roof, which is the one I have. I have seen the all white with white roof and its a totally different look when you have the black roof, makes it look mean!

I own a Mystic Jade Sport/Tech. I have never seen or even heard of another one besides mine. As stated before, there really is no way to describe it. It changes in different light, and it even changes if the car is wet or not. It has gray, green, and even some blue.

In my opinion, it's an amazing color.

I went with black. I absolutely, positively, completely love this car. This color is amazing on this car. Though, I think the car itself is pretty amazing. I test drove a blue one and it was really pretty.

But I'm a sucker for this black. It's so sexy.

BMWHigh1...I have to agree with you. Tuscan sun makes the curves standout for this car. I love it.

Regarding the mystic jade, the other posters are correct.
This is definitely a color you have to see in person.
We looked at a couple yesterday and it definitely looks different from different angles/sunlight.
Standing right next to it, it definitely was bluish. Slate from other angles, and sometimes the green came through.
If we buy a maxima, it will be this or white.

Actually white is great, it can be dirty and you don't see it unless it's mud or tar. I've always owned white as I think it's classy and easy to keep clean. Black is such a full-time hassle and no matter how well you take care of it eventually you see all of the scratches...

I have the black. For me the 09 max in the grey's date the car. White was pretty nice but I am a big fan of Pearl White and unfortuneatly no Pearl. Actually any pearl colour on the 09 max would look pretty sweet IMO

If I lived in Alberta (like you), my cars would all be black (or at least very dark). Absorb every glimmer of sun the car is fortunate enough to get.

Living south of Hotlanta GA (and south AL before that and south AZ before that and south CA before that), I look only at very light colors, and selected white for my '09.

Like you, I find some pearlecsent whites very tasteful; even beautiful.
