I have been checking with the company that made the rain guards for both my 5th gen Maxima and my 6th gen Maxima. They are located near Atlanta. I have already committed to posting the details here on the 'Accessory' thread as soon as they are available.

need suggestions on what to do. when i first got my max. the dealer talked me into getting the car alarm that the dealer had. the reason that i got it was because the finance dealer told me that if somone other than nissan installs an alarm and if its not a product used by nissan than it would automatically void the electrical part of my warranty. well nissan had already charge me for their alarm but, they have not yet installed it. ive read somewhere that aslong as the item is not installed than the dealer can refund that charge. i went to the dealer on saturday and they refused to refund me the charge even though the alarm wasnt even installed yet. any thoughts or opinions?

I cant tell you what to do about the aftermarket alarm, but one thing is for certain.
This - "finance dealer told me that if somone other than nissan installs an alarm and if its not a product used by nissan than it would automatically void the electrical part of my warranty."
is complete and utter BS.

If the installer messes up your car while installing the alarm, the Nissan would rightly refuse to fix it under warranty. However alarms and after market components are installed all the time, by both qualified shops and DIY'ers without voiding manufacturer's waranty.

Actually, I changed my mind, you should demand your money back, after being blatenly lied to in your face!

good luck,
Max

I ALWAYS get splash guards. These splash guards on the '09 look good, and fit into the flow of the lines of the car. But they are rather strange, in that they run along the bottom side of the car for an unusually long stretch (well over a foot), and do not reach very far below the rocker panel (no more than two inches or so). I will be adding pieces of flat black rubber that reach down about two more inches to the front of these guards in order to give more protection to the side of the car from trash thrown up from the tires.

Of course the splash guards on the '09 Maxima MUST be color-coded to match the car, and someone on the ORG whose Maxima came without them said when he tried to order a set, Nissan told the dealer they were not available for ordering yet. That was a month or two ago, and they may be available by now.

Gotta have splash guards.

I ordered a set and they arrived... - instructions.

Guess Nissan is accidentally shipping them without install instructions. I'm in a holding pattern, esp. since it mentions DRILLING holes....

I have no camera, don't know how to down load photos, and don't yet even have my '09 Maxima.

BUT:

If you go to the 'ooooo, I saw a maxima and took some pictures . . .' thread here on the 7th gen board, then go to PAGE 4 of that thread, the first thing on that page is a dozen pictures of a silver '09 with splash guards. Look down through those. There is one pic that shows the back half of the driver's side (window sticker prominently showing) where you can see the rear splash guard fairly well. It extends almost all the way along the bottom half of that cigar-shaped indentation along the lower rear of the car. Strangest splash guards I have ever seen, but they certainly follow the flow of the car, and the graceful slight downward curvature near rear of the tire ties in nicely with the slight downward curvature of the rocker panel area in front of the tire. Neatly done.

Right. If you didn't know the splash guards were there, you could miss them entirely. They add more to the shape, style and flow of the car than they deflect water from the tires. The fact they only reach down a few inches is why I will be adding rubber flaps that extend down about two inches lower than the OEM guards to the front of each one.

I am waiting on rain guards also. I have used the AutoVentshade brand, made in Lawrenceville GA, on my last three Maximas. I have always reached their site at www.autoventshade.com, but they told me they prefer that customers use their real name - www.lundinternational.com - to reach their site (both links reach the same site).

I contacted them again today; the ventshade molds for the '09 Maxima are being made, and the ventshades should be available within the next few months. When they are ready, you will be able to find '09 Maxima ventshades listed on their site. First one here to see them listed should let us all know by posting in this thread.

i recently just bought and self-installed super white LED lights for the interior, I'll have pictures soon, but if you guys know what I'm talking about and need help let me know, it wasn't hard at all. All the bulbs cost about $67 and took 2 days to ship. I got the interior map lights, driver/passenger feet light, door step lights, rear passenger lights, trunk light, and license plate light, all super white LED, I think it looks amazing. Here is a direct link to where I got them from, and 194 is the bulb size.

Moon roof wind deflector

Anyone put a moon roof wind deflector on. If so how does it look? Nissan's "Maxima Accessories" page says it's a no drill installation.

I did. Too dark to take photos tonight. It's the "factory" model, so if you find one, you've seen them all.

Simple install. You need like 3-4 hands tho.

The price on the deflector is surprisingly low. Looking forward to your pics to make a decision.

Remote Start Alarm Accessory

I am still waiting to hear if anyone has had a REMOTE START ALARM SYSTEM installed on their 2009 MAX!!! I have had a remote start system on my last two vehicles and have become very spoiled.........Plus I live in the middle of no where in Warrensburg MO and it is starting to get pretty cold.....

I have called all the shops in my area and they all say the same thing......that they have not come out with the 2009 Maxima interface module yet.....one shop said they could use the 2008 DEI interface for push button start system but they don't have the updated wiring color code and layout and that it would take ALL day and would be very expensive......they could not give me an exact quote but referenced that it could possible be over $850.00 because of all the time in labor trying to figure out all the wires.......

Anyone else have this problem???

I ordered the rubber all weather mats from mynissanparts.com. It comes in a set of 4. They all fit perfectly. They are pretty thick, but I don't even notice them.

DarkSlate, yes, you have to drill, no, there are NO install instructions included. I still haven't found the time to do mine, but I have them.

Find my "help needed" thread and look at pics that folks were kind enough to post for me.
