The tips on my wifes Max are peeling also. They have been peeling since day one. Looks like I will be buying some hi-temp black paint! I don't trust a dealership for anything that I don't have to.

I have had nothing with bad luck with painting the tips myself. The humidity doesn't get where it needs to be on the days I am free to paint them.

Since I have been having problems I have wire brushed them down to the metal and put some metal polish on to protect it. It looks great at every angle except dead on from the back. Haven't decided on whether or not to leave it as a metal finish or try another coat of High Heat Rustoleum.

If this happens to mine, think I will check into getting the new rolled tips used on the 2011. Has anyone checked them out yet?

Same here! I'm actually thinking about just getting the redesigned tips because the back end is lacking a bit.
