Dude, why are you ragging on Stillen b/c you had a bad experience with them? I just bought my intake from Stillen and I had ZERO issues. My only complaint is that the installation instructions were a little "iffy," but I still managed to get the install done in a reasonable amount of time. (1.5 hours)

The intake sounds GREAT!

This isn't just a guy ragging on Stillen, he's one of the first in the community to actually help get mods available for our cars with accurate info. Couple notes though - 1: this post was made years ago, 2: the guy who made it doesn't even own a Maxima anymore so arguing with him is pointless.

Anyone have any idea where I can go here in NY (Queens preferably) to get my front grill plastidipped? I dont want to take the chance of doing it myself and f-ing it up.

It's very hard to mess up and if you do you can peel it right off. I just did mine recently and it came out really good.

In short, sand chrome (optional for better adhesion), clean up grill, spray 12" away in a sweeping left to right or right to left motion accross each bar. Wait 30 min between coats. Repeat 5x. Blow dryer also helps.

Since Im OCD, I removed Nissan emblem. I didnt plasti dip chrome frame and separated that from center "honeycomb" grill.

How do I pop the grill out? Do I have to remove that plastic covering once I open the hood to access the grill? I dont want to take the chance of breaking the grill when Im removing it or it being loose when I put it back in.

Most of this stuff is available with the search feature. Here's some info on removing the grill.

And here's the thread you'll want to follow.

Wondering if anyone on here has gotten the Headlight covers for their Maxima from here. My question is does it just go over the low and high beam part of the headlights or does it also go over the turn signals?

I was thinking the same thing. I just put 8k top and bottom & I was going to do the smoke tint to my headlights... So I'm debating if I should tint them....

Might as well put a corn hood ornament while you're at it!

Does anyone have any experience with the lips they are selling on ebay for much cheaper. Say like this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-MAXIM...ht_3470wt_1378

Are there any drawbacks to getting this lip. Looks the same to me.

Nothing came up in searches that was posted recently on this. Are there any aftermarket adapters that allow for true iPhone integration (play music on iPhone through car stereo while controlling it from the stereo and steering wheel controls while displaying song name and artist on the head unit) with the 2012 S trim level's stereo?

Just an FYI:

Ordered a nose mask off ebay from a Nissan dealership but they told me that it would take about 2 hours for installation bc they have to heat the nose mask so that it would stretch out good enough to fit snugged on the car and prevent tearing (Cool, had no problem with that) but they quoted me $165 to have it put on. The nose mask itself cost me $120 (its $149 on Nissan's site).

Im thinking the nose mask will help protect my hood and bumper from road rash and insect splatter.

If i have time I'll try to put it on myself. The instructions are available on techinfo or i'll take it to a someone I know who is a certified Nissan mechanic.

Its super easy to put on, just throw it in the dryer for 5 minutes before you try putting it on.

I recently bought a 2010 Maxima SV Loaded Premium and LOVE the car. It drives like a dream, and has all the amenities to boot. The one part of this car I want to change is performance. I typically like to start with rims (cosmetics), then change out the exhaust system, and perhaps throw on a nice CAI system. I am stuck on the exhaust now. As many have stated, the obvious, the 3.5 V6 engine is the same as the 350Z car. Now, i'm no fool, as I do realize there are tuning differences, and different parts used on the Z car engine, as it is designed to be a performance sports car, and the Maxima is more of a luxury car with a punch, etc.. The simple fact remains: The engine is the same. I have been searching high and low on a way to get my Maxima to sound like the 350Z and/or G35 cars. The tone from the factory on those cars is music to my ears!! I don't want to go with a system like Greddy or Stillen, as I know the typical sound from those systems (I had the Greddy SP2 on my previous RX8), etc..

Question* Has no one been able to duplicate the sound of the 350Z on their Maxima (with the same 3.5 engine) by some sort of exhaust swap, muffler swap/combination, resonator change/swap, chip tuning in combination with the former, etc..?? I would be hard pressed to believe that the car doesn't have the capability of sounding exactly like its little brother (350Z) since the same engine is at play.

Any suggestions/advice/sound clips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Is it possible to get the maxs headlight to give off that 2013 Audi LED look without being too cheesy. Everytime I see an new A7 is like I'm a dear caught in those LEDs. Those custom headlights above looks good but not quite there. IMHO.
