Where did you get the Matte black to cover up the chrome? I added window visors but it looks kinda silly w/ the chrome still showing
#123
i just placed an order right now for the satin black vinyl wrap. the satin black match perfect with my super black so i will remove the matte black to install the satin black. i will also use it to cover the chrome on my license plate and door handle

if you want to save yourself some money, you could install yourself and have a shop install the wires to power it if you not good with electronics. the install will run you from 250

Just added a new set of coilovers that I found while doing some research on Subaru STI systems. Megan Racing Coilovers for the 09+ Maxima; funny thing is they also have them listed for the 07+ Altima. I guess the suspension are the same for both vehicles so this should open up to the door to all 07+ coilovers fitting on the Maxima (this has not been proven so if product does not state fitment for 09+ Maxima purchase at your own risk).

I wish they had more parts available for this car...came across these for the 08's and think they're on the right track. Would save many from tinting their tails if some black options were available.

"There is most likely nothing wrong with your MAF sensor. The air filters from K & N can sometimes be over oiled from the factory. This ends up coating the MAF sensor and so you have a check engine light and code. All you need to do is:
Disconnect the battery
Remove the MAF sensor
Clean the sensor with 90% rubbing alcohol or electronic parts cleaner
Let the MAF dry
Reinstall the MAF
Reconnect the battery
Done
Please note that sometimes it may be necessary to reset the check engine light.
If you have any other questions, please let us know.

I have not had a chance to follow Chuck's instruction as New York's weather is coming in a close second to Seattle right now but once I do I will post the outcome.

Best in take for 2011 Maxima
WHat is the best intake for the maxima? I have read alot on the K&N, Injen, Takeda and the nismo. They all seem pretty good but with each their own little problems what would you guys recommend if you could get any of them?

THanks man, but stupid me took it into the dealer with my stillen intake still on since it was pouring out and I don't have the cover of a garage to do any work in. So now that part is no longer covered under warranty as per the dealer. But I emailed stillen and I was told this:

I have to compliment Stillen on their prompt response to help me solve my almost $750 issue.
Now, I have to go back to Nissan and tell that service advisor where he can go.

So I followed Chuck's instructions over the weekend and my "service engine soon" light has been off since. I could not find 90% rubbing alcohol so I got 91%, figured that extra percent of rubbing alcohol to distilled water ratio would not hurt but probably help cut through the oil from the filter.

I had the same issue. I have had my intake in for about 2 weeks or so and took my max in for service this morning bc my "service engine soon" light was on and by the time igot home they called me and told me that my Mass Air Sensor has blown bc of the intake.....anyone else come across this issue? If so, do you know where I can get a new sensor that won't cost me $750 (part+labor).
Much appreciated.
Much appreciated.

well i was tired of fighting this, so i went ahead and put my factory intake and reset the service engine (went to autozone and bought a obdII reader said it was the MAF so i cleared it)and put stock back on never came on again. Since then i bought a K&N typhoon NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. i dont know what is wrong with the stillen but it is up for sale!!! LOL

Had my Stillen CAI on since February. So far, not one MIL light has come on. I agree with some earlier posts that K&N sometimes over-oils their filters from the factory. This is NOT Stillen's fault as they are just using K&N's filter element. Overall I couldn't be happier with the Stillen intake.

2010 3.5 Maxima SV Premium Exhaust Question
All:
I appreciate you all taking the time to review this question below, as I am a NooB and haven't acquired enough posts to start my own thread. Further, I did search and found a few posts speaking about my question, but the final verdict was unclear to me.
I recently bought a 2010 Maxima SV Loaded Premium and LOVE the car. It drives like a dream, and has all the amenities to boot. The one part of this car I want to change is performance. I typically like to start with rims (cosmetics), then change out the exhaust system, and perhaps throw on a nice CAI system. I am stuck on the exhaust now. As many have stated, the obvious, the 3.5 V6 engine is the same as the 350Z car. Now, i'm no fool, as I do realize there are tuning differences, and different parts used on the Z car engine, as it is designed to be a performance sports car, and the Maxima is more of a luxury car with a punch, etc.. The simple fact remains: The engine is the same. I have been searching high and low on a way to get my Maxima to sound like the 350Z and/or G35 cars. The tone from the factory on those cars is music to my ears!! I don't want to go with a system like Greddy or Stillen, as I know the typical sound from those systems (I had the Greddy SP2 on my previous RX8), etc..
Question* Has no one been able to duplicate the sound of the 350Z on their Maxima (with the same 3.5 engine) by some sort of exhaust swap, muffler swap/combination, resonator change/swap, chip tuning in combination with the former, etc..?? I would be hard pressed to believe that the car doesn't have the capability of sounding exactly like its little brother (350Z) since the same engine is at play.
Any suggestions/advice/sound clips would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Matt
