Am I correct on this power window thing?

I have the SV with sport package. My front two window power controls have a letter "A" on each switch. If you press them "all the way down" and let go, the windows will go all the way down. If you pull up "all the way" and let go, the windows close all the way, right?
If I recall, they used to do that, now they do not go up unless I hold the switch up. Isn't that what the "A" is for auto?????
I disconnected my battery after installing the Stillen intake to reset the computer, do not think this would have done it?????
Thoughts, am I missing something?

Mine does same thing. 09 Max Sport. Goes auto down but not auto up. I personally would rather have it the other way around.

If the windows do not close
automatically
If the power window automatic function (closing
only) does not operate properly, perform the following
procedure to initialize the power window
system.
1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window more than halfway by
operating the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to
close the window, and then hold the switch
for more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate
the window by automatic function to confirm
the initialization is complete.

My windows close and open automatically. Do that procedure above, and let us know if that fixes it.

Mannnn thanks a lot, that fixed it. It works now, I guess disconnecting the battery did clear it.

On a slightly different note, I wish there was a setting for the auto locks where they would automatically unlock when you put the car in park. My wife is going to rip the door handle off shortly I just know it!

Don't they do that? I do not recall unlocking my car before exiting. Will take note tomorrow morning. I think mine unlocks when I put it in park. Hummmmm?

I noticed on a demo drive today that the doors unlocked when the engine was stopped with the Start/Stop button.

When I picked my car up new at the dealer, the doors DID unlock when I put it in park and stopped the engine. In today's crime-ridden society, this was unacceptable to us. I found in the Owner's Manual where to change that, and so mine never unlock unless we manually use the switch to unlock them.

The procedure to make the change you want IS in the manual, which is out under the cargo system in my car trunk. If nobody here posts the page reference soon, I will go dig the manual out and search for the right page.

Yeah, it's in the owners manual. Just take a gander there. I have already read mine from cover to cover. I would do that for the service manual, but it is somewhat hard to follow on a computer screen. I wish I could find a paper version of it to purchase.
Now before anybody says to "print it out". The darn thing is around 3000 pages. That would most likely kill a small ink jet printer, not to mention I would still need to bind it, and it would set about a 1.5 feet off the floor.

I should have clarified while the car is still running but in park. It definitely unlocks when you shut the car off. Not a huge deal.

Disconnecting the battery can 'upset' lots of things on the Maxima. We all know about the clock, all the preset radio stations, etc, but I always have to reset my auto up-down window controls and sunroof controls also.

Thanks I was looking for that last evening.

Lol, me neither. Now it's just habit to hold the switch up. If only I had payed attention to that page in the manual when I read it.
