Ipod intermittend disconnected

I thought I saw someone posted a thread something about ipod got disconnected but I when I do a search, it does not show up. anyway, anyone comes across the message ipod disconnected?

This is intermittent and happen twice on me. I have my ipod connected and playing fine. One day out of the blue, it suddenly shows on the console screen a message "ipod disconnected" and it stays there for a while then and reconnected itself and works again. Anyone know why or running into the same problem as I have?

I have not had any problem like this. That's weird that it's doing that.

Nope, not that specific issue. I have had situations, however, where my iPod Touch will disconnect from the system when the car is off and then not reconnect when I start the car again. In this case I have to manually go to the iPod and open the "music" button. Sometimes it disconnects, sometimes it doesn't. Haven't yet found a pattern.

iPod disconnect

You may have an older model iPod. My generation 3 iPod disconnects at random on two different iPod controller systems. A newer generation iPod repairs this problem. Nothing wrong with your Nissan interface!

Yes I have noticed this as well with my 3rd Gen on the Maxima, and my 5th Gen never has a problem. No biggie.

I am able to duplicate the problem. what i found was if I constantly skip the song so quick from the steering wheel button, it will eventually freeze up and gave the message ipod disconnected even thought the ipod still connected. if that happens it will reconnect after while if it does not reconnect then i have to disconnect from the cable and reconnect it.

Came to the forum looking for this problem.
I have iTouch 16 gb (2nd gen), it has worked pretty good until one day while driving I got a message "iPod disconnected". I thought it was weird and reset the cable. From that day on it has happened more often, to the point that now it happens every 3 mins. I have the iTouch playing, not touching anything, dont even have to be driving and it disconnects in 3 mins. I did hard reset of the iTouch, and it has not helped.
I borrowed friends iTouch 32gb (2nd gen) and it played fine and did not disconnect. I also tried my wife's iPod 5th gen and it worked fine.
I guess I will be calling apple tomorrow to find out what they recommend.

Just a follow up to my issue. I did call apple and the support suggested I reload system software via iTunes. This completely wipes out the iPod and restores the latest version of iPod software. I tried it and it completely cured my problem. My iTouch no longer disconnects.
Now that I think about it, it may have been my upgrade to version 3.0 of software that started this behavior to begin with, but I can't be sure.

So for anybody experiencing the iPod disconnects, I suggest you try reloading software via iTunes.
good luck,
Max

Hello

I just bought my 2009 Maxima SV+Premium this weekend, and have had a similar experience with my iPod

First, I really can't control it from my wheel -just my dash - when it DOES recognize the iPod. Sometimes, however, the iPod just "checks out" and the panel says "iPod Not Connected" when it clearly is (the iPod Screen has the Nissan display on it).

I have tried resetting, and we'll see how that works.

Hopefully I won't need to reload the iTunes software, but I'm glad to see I'm not alone with this!

It sounds very similar to the issue I had, though you must not have the iTouch. My iPod nano displays Nissan logo, while iTouch just says accessory connected. Anyway, you dont need to reload iTunes, what you need to do is to restore your iPod software from iTunes.
good luck

Thanks - I don't have the touch. I tried just resetting the iPod this morning before work, and so far so good!
