For those of you have changed your oil and filter.
How much new oil did you put back in?

The Owners manual says 4 7/8 Quarts.
Nissanusa.com says 4 1/2 Quarts.
I was thinking 5 Quarts should be okay since 4 7/8 is hard to measure out

It's really a moot point since you can't purchase 7/8's of a quart so you have to have 5 quarts but technically you only use 4 7/8.

Some of my "Oil Logic":

Well on my old 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, it used 4.5 quarts. So on the side of a Pennzoil oil bottle there was a strip of clear plastic that allowed you to see how much was in it, along with measurement lines. So that is what I put in it. Saving the other 1/2 quart for the next time. The dipstick was always dead on after checking it.

With a so called 4 7/8 needed, I thought perhaps that would be tougher to measure out on the side of the bottle, thats why I thought that 5 would be okay. Plus for the extra 1/8 quart, i would have to hold onto 7 "extra" bottles, which is not feasible.

I'm sure most of the bottles I have used lately are marked every four ounces, which would be 1/8 quart. Typically I need to add 1/8 quart once or twice each OCI, so it works out.
