De-Badging
I didn't, the body shop that screwed up my STILLEN wings ordered all the parts and did it all for free. You would have to order them all from the parts catalog I guess. You can prob find some good prices online, or just shop around at dealerships. I know some people got it put on for like $350 at their Nissan dealership, which when you price out all the parts is an absolute steal.

I gotta leave all the junk on, Its a matter of pride for me......looks too naked without the badges. Have to admit though, the lines on that 7th gen body sure look smooth, and the de-badging helps with that look.....
The only other thing I would have done is remove the license tag frame, spray paint it black (or color of your choice) so nothing can be read, and put it back on the car.
As for someone suggesting you blur you tag number, any time your car is not enclosed in a windowless garage, your tag is in full view to anyone who wants to see. I never post my Social Security Number or my VISA card number online (or anywhere else), but my Maxima license tag is WF70F5 (wildflower tag with a big blackeyed susan on it), and I would have no problem posting it on a billboard. I never bother bluring it, whether online or on the highway. It is what it is.

As for the license plate, I agree and see no harm in having it visible.

Painting Maxima Badge Black
What would be the best way to make the Maxima badge black? I have a Super Black 2010 SV and wanted to have it match the color of the car? Is there a 3rd party badge already that color or do you just paint it?
Thanks.
Thanks.
IMO straight black badges would not look so good. But, Black Chrome....WOW. If you could get that done, that would be very nice on a black car.
Arggg,
So being the eager beaver I am, I removed the "MAXIMA" badge last night. After heating up with a hairdryer and using dental floss to remove the letters, I was left with alot of the adhesive. Tried removing with GOO Gone and still no luck - panic time.
This is where I learned my lesson, don't do this job in the Canadian winter (too cold to remove adhesive) and in your dark garage (can't see if your hard rubbing is damaging the finish).
In a moment of despair, I turned to a flat head screw driver wrapped in a microfiber cloth. While this method eventually removed all of the glue, some nice scratches have now replaced where "MAXIMA" used to read.
I don't think the scratches are deep (will buy some Quixxx scratch remover today), but let this be a lesson learned!

Ya too cold to debadge in the winter. And yes the sooner you debadge the better. My wife just bought a 2010 Acura TL and I'm going to wait till the Summer to debadge. I pretty much debadge all my vehicles.
I used my fingernail and blue Windex. Worked very well for me. Using a screwdriver on your paint is bred from being impatient. A trait I am not immune from and do not seem to learn from its results. It worked out for me this time, but I'm sure I will do something soon that will cause the turrets to return.

(wow, I have old photos, need to get newer ones)

fatass angle:
Yea, I feel your pain. However, to make you feel better I've noticed that scratches in this area don't show too much because it always seems to be in a shadow. Also, I was able to remove most of the scratches using a product called Quixx Scratch Remover (includes fine grit sand paper but I didn't use it).
1) Where about do you live?
2) How long the car sat on the lot before you bought it?
3) what color of car?
4) does the car sit in a garage or outside?
without these answers, a few months is no problem. Now if the car has been baking in the southern states and is a dark color, you may see a slight outline
I live in Fl and even at our temps I think you would have to have a poor paint for it to fade that quick. If it's a 2010 I don't think you would see any fading yet.
After reading these post I am wanting to take off the Nissan and replace it with a maserati, and take the IMA off of MAXIMA to see how I like it and remove MAX if I looks like poop.

I see a blue G35 (1st gen) that says S K Y L I N E too around NoVA all the time, but with the INFINTI badge still on it.
there is a meet in NYC this coming saturday, plenty of 7th gens are going to be there. PM me and I'll send you the link to the details (if interested)
ALRIIIGGGHHHTTT!!! I took off the "MAXIMA" badge on the most gorgeous Saturday New York has had in a long time!
Used fishing line to take the letters off and then the rubbed the residue away.
Used some bug and tar remover to get all the last traces off.
Then I clay barred the whole area and put some wax on it!
Smooth as glass and looks beautiful too! I took pictures I'll have to get them off my camera some time soon and post them. The car looks 1 million times better with that off.
I was thinking about taking the Nissan badge off as well but I think it looks to plain for my liking.
