loading address book

is there a way to load the address book or access the address book from the iphone via the voice command or system command center?

My car is premium package but does not have the navigation package. I try to access the address book from my phone so that I can call but does not seem to be able too.

Sorry the iPhone is not supported for address book downloading. You will have to manually enter the contacts yourself by typing them in. Not all phones support bluetooth address book downloading.

I was actually checking out the review on Cnet and that's one of the downsides!

Weird how? It shouldn't be any different than comparing the capabilities of two cars (My merecedes diesel takes diesel fuel...weird that my max doesn't?) We shouldn't take for granted that every feature of one device works with another beyond some basic interop otherwise we get no more choices (all car parts would be interchangeable, all would run on the same fuel, same features, same color.) Not a world I would like to live in.

Apple chose a different path/capability set with their iPhone to set it apart. As such, some of the more esoteric features/capabilities certainly get pushed out a bit.

The phone requires the Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP, PBA), it's not on the iPhone unfortunately. Their are about 28 profiles, everything from audio to printing to headsets, etc.

Here is a wiki to explain more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile

I always check out what profiles exist on a phone before I make the purchase.

Hello everyone I glad to say that I am a very happy man for buying a new Maxima 2010. After missing around with the iphone and bluetooth in my car I did notice that you could not send your address over. But I did notice when i go to voice command and say "headset phonebook" there are a list of the people in my address book in my iphone. I didnt try calling anyone yet because it was so early in the morning but I will try to see if I can call anyone on that address book in due time. Also i have a question, does the 2010 have better connection than 2009 when it comes to ipod and iphone? Other than that the Maxima is one of the best cars I ever own.
