Factory Air Filter w/ Catback Exhaust??

Hello everyone... As everyone knows the R2C intake should be coming out soon and at the moment I have the Stillen CAI on my car. My question is if for the mean time I take off the CAI and I put back the factory filter will that effect anything?

I've been told by a few that if you have a catback you should not use the factory filter but I have also been told by others it doesn't matter. What is your take on it?

Does not matter, every car is different like on the 300C (my brother has one), the OEM intake is better then most of the aftermarket CAI available for the car, but the right CAI and catback exhaust actually improves gas mileage with the 300C

As far as the Maxima, I have read nothing that leads me to believe a stock intake will effect anything, you can tell us if something changes

Thanx for the input. I can say that since I put on the CatBack as well as the CAI I have noticed a decrease in MPG but I am not sure if that is due to the CAI or the exhaust. I think that I am going to go ahead and try to take off the CAI and put back on the factory one since I am planning on getting the R2C intake anyhow. The Stillen CAI is a PITA since you have to clean it and re-oil it. I just need a screw extractor since I snapped one of my MAFS screws from tightening to hard during install, lol.

Thanx for the info again.

In my opinion it sounds good... I wasn't looking for something that was to loud (I live in a close proximity to others) but it is still pretty lound but very very nice and well worth it

No problem.. I hope you enjoy it. You should get the Racingline Y-Pipe while your at it to. It will make the tone deeper.

Do you happen to have the Y-Pipe installed from Racingline? I'm very close to hitting the "buy" button on this one, but I'd like to hear someone else's experience with it. I would be installing this Y-Pipe to an otherwise stock exhaust system.

No I don't have it on there they just got released today and there are only 30 of them in stock. Its winter where I am and $50 off isn't worth it for me to buy it now so I'm in no rush but if your ordering an exhaust system and you want something louder that just the exhaust is then if you add the Y-Pipe you'll get just that; not to mention some extra HP
