You sir, posted the video of the Borla exhaust making excessive racket on the Z. And I certainly will not be 'trying' to achieve a drone sound. Your incenuation of such is both ignorant and pathetic. I simply dislike the sounds in the video you posted; like the sound of the Greddy Evo2, and would prefer a drone over any gurgling/rasp. I'm greatly sorry you don't like my opinion, but it is mine and I'm fully entitled to it without ignorant Pep Boys comments from you.

So judging by your comments then you are looking for a stock exhaust that costs more money? If not, then what exactly are you after? You don't like Borla and you don't like Greddy. Borla isn't known for "excessive racket" more of a throaty muscle sound. Greddy, which is geared towards the tuner crowd and designed for applications involving turbo setups, is known for their loud raspy sound. Correct me if I am wrong here but we are far from the tuner crowd. A nice and simple Borla exhaust that has a growl but isn't over the top is all I would want out of an exhaust for this car.

Guys lets do this how about we cut the arguing? There are some people on the forums that are here just to **** people off and everyone is going to have their view point. I don't agree with what is being said but I don't want to have this thread locked because of one person no "MaxLoverAZ" making comments that should not be made.

Thank You

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to be argumenative.

To reiterate my personal opinion on exhaust notes; no rasp, no gurgle, no burping (ie: as shown in the video in which I saw/watched w/the black 350/370z, which reminds me of a boxer-type vehicle [Porsche's, WRX's] and even SRT-4's). I prefer to have something very similar to that of which the gentleman in the black 350z with the GReddy EVO2 exhaust, which was later referred to as more of a "drone" type sound, which I said I would rather have as opposed to any sort of burping.

I've had a Borla system on a V6 Firebird back in the day (was top-10 fastest V6 car in the nation at the time), and by the time I was done fiddling with it, I learned to hate the insane raspy sounds it created. I then went to a Flowmaster; didn't like it all that much (was on an '03 Cobra), then to a MAC w/a Pro-Chamber - which I loved (but was still too loud), and then finally to a full set of MAC long-tubes, H-pipe, and Pro-Dumps on my latest Foxbody Coupe (306, Nitrous, 9 second car) - which I also loved (but was still too loud; however it was a street-driven racecar so it's kind of par for the course).

Sound like this, look like this, and be approx. $500-$800 based on options; ie: full exhaust vs rear section only.
That sounds beautiful.

Is that the I4 or V6 model? If it's the 4, then I'm blown away on how much it DOESN'T sound like, as someone commented before, "angry bees in a coffee can." <-- that actually made me laugh.

I am going to give them a call within a few days and see if they are interested yet... I think I have about 20+ people on the list so that should be enough. I'll get back to you all.

I looked at many videos on youtube and prefer the sound of the borla exhausts compared to the greddys that i heard. So with this post I am showing my support for the need of a nice system from Borla. Like many, I would like mine to sound deep, aggressive and throaty, but not obnoxious and scream like a crotch rocket. I believe a fair price would be around $700- $800. Im w/ u Kam. Lets get this done!!!

also Kam. sorry to go off topic, but figured U'd see this message in this thread the fastest. I read how u said to take off the tail lights. I only saw two bolts that had hex nuts. there were other pieces sticking out similar to those bolts but they just looked like clear plastic pieces. Worry bout those? And theres a small black clip on the inside of the skinny part of the lens that runs up the side of the car. Is there anything that has to be removed over there? appreciate the help!

Sound is going to be a tricky one considering that we have CVT's. The drone could get annoying FAST! I had a nice cat-back stainless steel Borla exhaust on my last car (V-6 powered) and it was VERY loud in the car at low engine rpm cruising around. I always staying in a shorter gear to keep the noise at bay.

I agree with the sound from the Infiniti's although, I have to admit that the stock sound isn't that bad!

I'd pay maybe MAX $800.00. My previous cat-back borla was 650 on a slightly smaller car.

I'm with KillaKam. Let's not let this die out. A Borla exhaust for our Max's would be amazing. We need more aftermarket exhaust options! I'd get the Stillen but apparently they rust after a while. Not good.

Any updates with Borla???

I had a cat-back dual exhaust borla on my previous car for 5 years. It was as shiny when I traded it in for my Max as the day I had it installed.

I would think it would be tough for borla to accurately guage interest for an exhaust based solely on this website. It'd be a start though, I'd get one!

I've talked with them via email and had one phone conversation with them and basically all I was told is that they are going to look into it. They are taking other steps although I can't say what it is and I can't confirm any guesses at this point but if all goes well in the meeting it is possible we can finally get a quality system out there I just need the most people possible interested.

Youtube got lots of those and it's worth going through as well. I thought installing Borla would be difficult but it was very easy and the sound is just awesome but I think it's not too throaty.

I'd be in for a Borla exhaust as long as it installs nicely with the racingline Y pipe. I would have to say it's a deal breaker if it wouldn't.

i think we have pretty much people interested in this, Itll be great if borla can get started on this project quickly because it seems many people are interested in this now. Unlike r2c many people were interested in it when the the thread first came up, but now since there delay , it seems they lost many potential buyers including myself.

I think that boils down to unrealistic expectations and somewhat childish impatience to be completely blunt. This is essentially a brand new model of car with very few driving around compared to other markets they are acutally gunning for (ie tuner cars driven by a much younger crowd). If and when someone does make a specific aftermarket part (and does it well I might add) I would consider it more of a favour then an expectation. Some of these companies that are pumping out parts by the hundreds for thousands of models of different cars just aren't backing it up with the quality that would be expected to be put on a $40k car. If you want the quality you have to wait.

The only reason I included childish impatience is that there are just some people that have signed on to something and then fled to a different shiny object. I didn't mean it in a offensive way. I was just alluding to the fact that children change their minds often and can be easily caught up in something else rather quickly hence why there is always toys on the ground in a childs room .

Dude no one likes waiting especially when the expectations are high on a product that keeps pushing back their release date and have yettttt come out with it, and yes btw i love my shiny object(takeda), have fun waiting for yours

If the expectations were so high for a product why couldn't you wait for the release? I can understand not having the patience for some run of the mill part but something that is worth waiting for I typically can wait it out. I waited 6 months for my Z, I was at the dealer test driving the 350Z when I was told about the 370Z, after some research on the Internet I decided it was worth waiting for.

The thing is I never spoke with R2C as most of us so I don't know for sure what was really promised however my belief is that with all of the hype on the thread I think it was exaggerated a few times on what was really stated from R2C. This whole project started out for the 6th Gen and we kind of piled on expecting a system with nothing official from R2C until several months in.

Peace

For one thing its simple why i didnt wait there is no official release date for their intake!, Not even a pre production photo of the intake was provided(at least try to get our attention towards the intake), who knows if and when there gonna release the intake and the last time i checked didnt cattman say there werent releasing the intake because of the sales with the 6th gens? I think we all waited long enough since 8/09. Im enjoying the afe takeda, looks and sounds awesome

sorry kam for derailing this thread.

1sik4dsc, I would like to apologize for my previous posts. I was incredibly frustrated with work issues when I read your post that I commented to. I was just venting for things that had nothing to do with anything related here and I took it out unfairly on you. I was just dissapointed with the number of people leaving the R2C intake who have every right to do. I am happy that you love your takeda and hope it works out for you.

[QUOTE=styliztik;7511542]I love this sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xcv6Sk_G9MY

I agree. This is prob the best i heard on the net IMO. Its a nice low growl w/ a smooth n clean sound which is great compared to another one I saw of an Altima that kept burping and gurgling. If borla made something that could also sound like this, I'D DEF DEF BUY IT! Hope it becomes an option.
