New Borla Exhaust in development!!
Keep in mind that it hearing it live is much different. Any more Maxus feedback on our exhaust?
I am going to try to get another video on a not so windy day. Also I will give you a call tomorrow to talk to you about Maxus and feedback. I will also send you some more pictures tomorrow as well. I am trying to get them all together instead of sending them one by one.
For me to get real interested, I would want it a bit louder/throatier (more like your offering for the 350Z).
It actually looks great in person, I think the round tip's actually look better as they help to fill-in the opening.
BTW, Borla makes a great product for the 350Z in a true-dual exhaust. Your Maxima has limited space and uses a single pipe design.
Making loud exhausts or high SPL levels is not difficult to acheive. The challenge is creating a product with great sound at WOT and minimal cabin resonance (aka drone) while cruising. Most owners use their Maxima as a daily driver and have passengers. While it's important that we maximize the sound on the outside, it's also important that you are able to listen to your radio or have a conversation while cruising. This was our goal for the Maxima and based on some of your feedback, we think we did a pretty good job.
With little effort, we created high SPL levels in the Maxima using small mufflers. Unfortunately the cabin resonance was beyond comfortable at 40mph causing your ears to ring after 10-minutes. There's no secret that smaller mufflers attenuate less sound than a larger muffler with the same internal design. However it's not that simple and even with our experience, we go through multiple prototype builds. Most shops can take a universal muffler, bend pipe, weld a tip and call it done. Unfortunately, if you're not happy with the sound, it's back to the shop spending $$ for another design and build. This is our where our expertise in design, testing, fabrication, and using the best materials will benefit you in a great sounding product with a million-mile-warranty.
Thanks for your interest in Borla.
This is Alvin from Borla Performance in CA. Prerhaps I can chime in about this sound.

Are you guys going to have a 7th Gen. meet or anything anytime soon? I would not have a problem taking a trip down to NY to show you guys the exhaust in person. Just gotta give me some advance notice (about 2 weeks).
Already talked to someone at Maxus about that and we may get that and also another Y-Pipe manufacture into the mix hopefully this year. No guarantees about that though.

I attempted the best that I could at it and I know that it was not the best and I am working on getting a better video of the sound. Its kinda hard since there is a lot of wind and I do not want to run into what happened the last time I recorded the video. I will try to get one up asap just please bear with.
well usually we dont have 7th gen meets only cause the turnout wouldnt be big at all, when we have meets all gens are invited for the biggest turnout....as of right now i dont see any meets organized, but kam i will deff let you know when one does come up, it would be great to have another 7th gen there.

Actually their production facility is in TN not TX and their R&D facility isn't setup to mass produce exhausts but I'll let Alvin at borla speak about that shortly.

No not at all, they produced a handful of exhausts for us at their R&D facility to avoid any delays for early adopters, I believe several are still available for purchase. The normal production will take place in their TN factory where they produce all of their exhausts, they are updating their website this month to include the 09/10 Maxima.

I am very disappointed with how the exhaust came out for 1200 dollars the exhaust is not loud enough it sounds like a honda civic with the muffler cut off our maxima has 300 horsepower and it sounds like a 190 horsepower civic my max sound alot better with my stillen exhaust and my k and n air intake............

I will be very soon. Trying to set up a date with a buddy of mine to do a comparison of stock to the Borla. Then he is going to get the Stillen Axle Back system and we will do a comparison of sound to the axle back to a Borla Cat-Back
Heres a better sound... I used my iPhone 4's voice recorder to get the sound so there is no video but sound for now just so that you all can hear what the exhaust sounds like when reving.
UPDATE: YouTube did not accept that audio format so there is a new link posted below.

No haven't as of yet. Just waiting to get the side by side video of this system with the stock system and then I will add the Y-Pipe to it to make a video of that as well.
killakam that video made a difference, that does have a deeper noise then the stillen but now i have the stillen i cant see myself getting the borla i like the noise but not a huge difference... not worth 1200.... i seriously thought that borla would have made a slight better product then that..... but i agree with someone who stated earlier do a custom job....

From where I stand, they made a product superior to STILLEN... simply by their choice of material. Your stillen exhaust will rust in time, and you may not care, but personally it would drive me crazy.
Maybe Cattman will come out with a supreme exhaust now that he has everyone's feedback from both the Stillen and Borla systems... I already planted the seed haha.
