Talking New Borla Exhaust in development!!

Well everyone, I dropped of my Max with Alvin of Borla Industries last Friday and she is officially on the rack....

ETA is 2-3 weeks and Alvin has promised to provide some pictures and maybe a video or two of the development process.

I'm real excited to have Borla express interest in the 7th Gen. Maxima, they are very well known in the super car and muscle car arena and provide performance exhausts to several OEM manufacturers. Although I'm already a Borla customer with my 370Z I can't wait for my Maxima to join the "million mile" club!

If you are new to Borla you should take the time to read their FAQ page and visit their youtube video page to learn more:

I agree with Annino; Thank you very much for allowing Borla to use your vehicle for R&D without you all my talking would have been for nothing, lol.

Can't wait for the release!

I hope it comes out soon. I just read the threads on the R2C intake and thought the story was gonna end great, but no product. Hope this exhaust is not a pipe dream.

Did you read the part on the R2C thread stating that boxed unit would be ready 4-5 weeks from the beginning of May? It hasn't even been a month yet, to say that nothing great has come out of it is not fair. It will come. Parts don't just fall out of the sky, they require R&D and production time. Once it is available it will be the best, no question about that.

That is such a shame how cruddy the Stillen pipes are. I had an '84 Cougar my parents gave me as a first car, my dad put on a stainless exhaust CB system (not for performance reasons just because the stock sys rusted out) Those pipes remained brite n shiny for many years after!! To think about it, Stillen stated that it is surface rust on their sys, but what does the INSIDE surface look like? Probably just as rusty. Boo

I am very excited to get the Borla pipes. When they are available. The sound I bet is gonna be killer.

Just wanted to let all you guys know with the permission of Alvin; you guys already knew it was coming but Borla has finally finished development of their exhaust system for our vehicle.

Mike will have a system on his car and I will be getting mind on Wednesday and installing on Thursday. For all of those that are going to be at Maxus 2010 send me a PM I will be entering into the show to promote the Borla system so if you guys have any questions i'll be more than happy to answer them for you especially since I will have a nice 2+Hour drive down to the hotel i'll get plenty of feel for the exhaust system.

I do not know what pricing is going to be set at as of yet but I should have that information by the end of the week along with pictures, and a video for all of you. I will have the actual system installed on my car for Maxus so if you all want to stop by and take a look please feel free to do so

There MAY be a chance that Alvin is able to get some kits produced at his R&D facility in California but that is not a grantee that they will be able to. I'll have more information for you over the weekend.

Here is a look at what the tips are going to look like:

And here is a video link ( Nice and Round Tips :-) )

Hey Killa... Great News! Is this a full cat-back system or just rear section only? Dang 6-8 weeks!!! I'd love to reserve one of those R&D system units.

They are not really the prototypes the only one that is a prototype is the one that Mike is getting on his car. They are production quality but produced at the California R&D plant. They MAY be able to make a half of dozen more at their R&D facility but that is NOT A GUARANTEE!

As stated above I will know more by the end of the week.

Actually their production facility is in TN not TX and their R&D facility isn't setup to mass produce exhausts but I'll let Alvin at Borla speak about that shortly.

Thanx for that correction I knew it was one of those just couldn't remember off the top of my head.

Also that is correct for everyone that is reading this that Borlas California location does not mass product exhaust they only do R&D there at that location but as they MAY be able to make a few more kits to sell. Like MaxLoversAZ said either Alvin will chime in more on this or he will pass on the information to me. I should have the price for the kit over the weekend once again as well.
