Outside Dimming Mirrors

To me outside dimming mirrors is one the items I miss the most from my previous car ('06 Cadillac STS). Has anyone tried installing them on a 2010 Maxima SV (non sport/premium) ?? I know they are included with the premium/sport package, however the wiring should be "there", correct?

I found the assembly online for sale at a Nissan parts website but wanted more information. (~$125)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance.

I wish this feature was standard on all vehicles, not just the Maxima. It is an extremely helpful safety feature when driving at night. I'd love to see both the driver AND passenger side mirrors with auto dimming functions and not just the driver. It would make driving at night, not just safer, but much more pleasant.

On the 09 I have, the drivers side outside and the rearview are autodimming. The passenger side isn't.

The inside rear view mirror is auto-dimming on all '09 and '10 Maximas.

The outside driver's side rear view mirror is auto-dimming on all Sport and Premium versions of both the '09 and '10 Maxima.

The outside passenger side rear view mirror is non-dimming on all '09 and '10 Maximas.

My 6th gen Maxima SL had auto-dimming and power folding on both outside mirrors.

My 08 has autodimming on the drivers side mirror, and the rearview. Not on the passenger side. I got power folding side mirrors and think it is cool too.

Surprised some 09 or 10 do not come with autodimming.

That is crazy light, I didn't know that about the 6th Gen Maxima! Why would Nissan get rid of it on BOTH sides in the 7th Gen and completely get rid of power folding mirrors? Just boggles the mind I guess ???

Probably just so they can add it on as a feature to one of the upcoming 7th gen models.

LOL, Smarty, That comment was made in a previous thread. I didn't want to go digging to find that really old thread and merge the 2, and the OP didn't search for it either, so that means it's really buried.

To be honest with you, the new Max has so many luxury features in the premium package that there isn't much more they could add. I would like to see though:

* auto dimming driver AND passenger side mirrors
* power folding mirrors
* rear heated seats
* cooled passenger front seat

Hell, I'd wished that I had cooled seats instead of heated ones. Screw the backseat tho. Nobody is ever there in my car.

I think I had the power folding mirrors on the 07 I had and I think I used them once. Just to see what they did.

I'm all happy now that my rocking chair is gone and the passenger vibrate seat option has now been "removed". Almost like a new car!!!!!

I'm just curious, how did your Nissan stealership rectify the driver rocking seat and passenger vibrating/shaking seat issue?

They added some bracket to the passenger side, and they replaced the bottom frame with another one. This is the 2nd time. In the other thread, I posted the part numbers which WERE different than what some of the other folks posted.
