Quieter Exhaust?

Hey, does anyone know if there's a quieter exhaust, or some new exhaust hangers that will quiet down the stock Maxima's exhaust note? I get a lot of low frequency vibrations that ruin the luxury and quietness of the cabin.

Does anyone know if the Altima's exhaust will fit our cars? I'm sure the Altima has a quieter exhaust.

Thanks!

Be aware that when Nissan was testing the first pre-production versions of the 7th gen Maxima, they found no engine noise was getting into the cabin, and the driver felt totally isolated from what was happening under the hood.

To remedy this, and give this car a little more of a sporty feel, Nissan told us they added a system that transmits some of the noise from the manifold area of the engine bay directly into the cabin. There are a few posters here on the ORG who have researched this feature, but I don't recall the exact details they uncovered.

did you try the sound generator yet? What sound deadning stuff did you put in? Dynomatt is very effective if you want to lay some of that stuff in.

You're right - I did say that ... now the most prominent problem is vibration of the exhaust ... almost as if Nissan didn't use a big enough rubber isolator between the exhaust hanger and the exhaust mount on the car (similar to what aftermarket exhaust shops do).

I remember the noise generator, but they said it kicks in over 4k RPM, and I rarely, if ever, get that high in the rev range.

Thanks!
