You can take some 1000 grit or 2000 grit wet sand paper to them and when they are to your liking use some polishing compound (scratch X works great) and buff them out by hand. Then throw a few coats of wax on them to get them to shine like normal, and you won't even be able to tell you sanded it when your done.

The cops is one thing i'd be more worried about someone slamming into you from behind because they couldn't see your brakes insurance company will find you 100% at fault too

well I still have the 3rd brake light as well as the brake light in my license plate frame so at least it's not like I don't have any brake lights, but I agree it's dangerous

I think it'll look better with the reverse lights left clear

No offense I hate the way that looks plus I see that on every car, I do not understand the trend of leaving the reverse lights clear but to each his own

^^^ I really like it with the reverse light still clear^^^
I know it helps when backing up at night and trying to see through the camera.

Tranzporta got the rite idea, No too dark, but still a good shade, I think it looks much better when the reverse lights aren't blacked out either, it creates a sort of balance you can say.

I actually love this look, I think it looks weird when the white area is tinted. For me I'm going for this exact tint with the cut-out so when I reverse I still have lights to see by. I honestly don't like the OP's tints they are WAY too dark and as others said you are going to get to know some cops on a first name basis. But props for doing you, everyone has their own car do you.

Yeah the color scheme goes much better here I agree. Still will suck though when someone rear ends you during the day cause they don't know you're braking...

oh thats wassup then. yours looks as dark as the OP's so i just figured neither of yours is visible during the day. i fk wit the dark color jus aint tryna risk it bein too dark to see in the daytime. people in my area ride bumper to bumper for some reason so id prolly get rear ended within a day.

I would beat the hell out of your Paint guy for letting you leave like that or kick your own *** for asking him to make it that dark. Just kidding man.

You need them done like this. Ask him to do 50% black candy with a 50% clear coat w/ UV Inhibitor. If you do that, you'll get this.

looks good but that's not the look I was looking for. I think it looks bad with the clear section in the center imo but keep the mods comin

There isn't a clear section? They are painted the same throughout the whole tail light. The only way you are going to be legal is to do it this way. I am at the limit before it becomes illegal. At least in AZ.
