Question handle The HANDLING

Alright,

So I have the premium package and yes I wanted a soft relaxed ride unlike my previous cars for a change (coil overs and springs, etc...)

Although I am coming to realize that I need an improvement.

I do not want any coil overs, or shocks, but I'd like to lower the car about an inch to one and half.
For 2 reasons: handling and looks.

So, I'd like to go with some set of springs that have have decent soft ride which could improve the handling.

Also, was thinking I would probably need some strut and sway bars?
But I am Not sure.

Please make some suggestions as far what could improve the handling +

What brands/models I should consider.
Any personal experiences would be awesome.

Thanks

Eibach pro kit springs for a mild drop, ride is very nice almost stock like. Much better handling with this alone. But adding either a Stillen or Racingline front and rear sway bar would improve handling even more. Racingline which i have is slightly less expensive than stillen but just as good a product.

Hey thanks for the info...

ok cool, so eibach for the springs, and What's the drop?
Could anyone post some pix please...

Any other brand- second best?

And for the other stuff you mentioned, both front and rear?
Which of the 2 is more important, the better upgrade?
Would either one of them stiffen the ride quality?
How much does the Stillen go for verse yours?

I am assuming you got the springs and one of the bars, right?
On a scale 1 - 10 how much did yours improve?
10 being the best

Any place that carries them all? Instead of ordering from two or more places?

The eibach pro kits are 1.3 in front and 1.4 in rear drop. H&r sport springs are a 2nd option but it may be a slightly lower drop and I haven't heard of anyone installing it on their max. You can do a search on the forums for the eibachs and the strut bars and find feedback easily.

You can buy the eibachs at stillens site for about $245 here

I have both racingline front strut bar and rear sway bar. It's tough to say which is the better mod. I say get both since racinglines front strut bar is $130 and rear sway bar on sale for $125. It will be cheaper than stillens. here

I have the same white Sv premium as you
with eibachs but 20s, here's my post with pics here

This might be a dumb question, but I live in New York City. I am not sure if I really want to lower the car (though better handling is a great reason to). As it is though potholes and bumps are all around. Lowering the car makes me feel like I'd get more bumper damage. Am I being overly paranoid or is this a legitimate concern in a city like New York?

Hi, how can someone lower the front with the eibach's 1.3 drop and while keeping the rear lowered at around 1".

I feel the rear end is just a tad too low compared to the front end.

How can I acheive this look?

Thanks.

I would say it is. I am actually visititing new York, and for the very Same reason I did not drive my car. New York = messed Ur roads and pot holes.

But again an inch is not a huge drop, you might be able to get away with that in the city.
I think the bars will help us, but I personally have no experience.

I have the Eibach Pro Kit, FSTB and RSB and my car is vastly improved over stock handling, I hear many people complain about this and that but the little bit of ride harshness most of them feel is more than likely coming from their low profile tires rather than their lowered car.

My car experiences less side to side rocking uptop (which is a common trait of cars with stiff rollbars and lots of wheelgap) due to being lowered but I ensured that I kept my ride as close to stock as possible as far as road feel by not adding low profile tires and buying aftermarket 18in wheels.

Well, good luck with whatever you decide to do and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Tanks man, good info. I agree a 100% about the low profile thing and I know from experience.

Which brand did you get?

Just saw my friends Altima in FL. It looks nothing like an Altima anymore (Probably at least $5-10k worth of mods to it). Lowered it there inches, 20" rims and new tires, tinted out all windows and lights. New custom LED Lights as well. Custom hood/front bumper. Looks pretty sweet. What I love on my Maxima though is it looks so pretty half that I don't need . After comparing his car to mine lowered I think i'm going to pass on the lowering given my driving habits in NYC. However I think I do want to throw on some bigger wheels. I like the Verde Kaos Blacks. Those in 20" maybe

Go for it, they look nice on these cars. I just didn't want to veer away from the stock feel of this car too much so I stayed with 18's which I think look pretty decent on my car despite many people saying they're too small (on Members Rides Forum).

When you see my car in person you won't necessarily say that unless you're just one of those trendy people who have to be like everyone else and ride 22inches or whatever.

To each, his own though. Best wishes with whatever you decide to do with your car, just be sure to post some pics of it after you add the wheels.

As mentioned above the advantages over the Stillen RSB and FSTB compared to the Racingline RSB and FSTB is 1) Price and 2) If you look at the differences between the two the Racingline FSTB is much thicker than the Stillen one which is how it should be. When your trying to stabilize your car your going to want something think not something skinny.

Comparison:

Racingline

Stillen

As for the RSB there is no question that you should go with the Racingline one. Reason why is because for one it is adjustable (2 adjustments) so you can choose how stiff you want the back end to be and because it is on sale now and a great buy coming with new bushings to install along with the RSB.

In the end the choice is up to you but overall I think that Racingline makes a cheaper but much more quality product than Stillen.

Question

So the Raceline is also adjustable, ok sounds good, thanks for the info!

How much did you pay for yours? Where should I buy it from?

Thanks

Hey guys,

I have been trying to in touch with RaceLine, left few messages, but nothing!

I was wondering if I could order from any other vendor in the states, or I have to get it from there?

It's listed for $149, is that best price I can get it for?

Thanks!

is the Racingline Rear Sway Bar worth waiting for or should I go ahead and grab the Stillen one? I don't care so much about the price but it does appear that the Racingline sway bar is made out of a stronger metal, while the Stillen one is the same metal as stock but not hollow like stock. seems like Racingline has had them out of stock for a hot minute though...

I have had the Race line sways for few months, very impressed with them.
By the way, I also lowered the car by Eibach; both at the same time.
Awesome upgrade. A bit stiffer from stock, but truly amazing handling for such a large heavy car.
Hope this helps.

I have the Stillen sway bar I ordered because I didn't want to wait for Racingline...although the reviews of it seem to be great. I don't want to kill the comfortable ride but I would love for it to handle better.

the racingline sway bar has 2 settings correct?

does stillen have 2 settings as well?

i purchased my racingline sway bar during the black friday sale and have yet to receive it...

i've contacted racingline but they said wait 3 more weeks...this was after their website said wait 3 weeks previously...umm...it's been 9 weeks already since black friday sale

i thought racingline was better than this

The Stillen one is not adjustable. I'm actually a little hesitant to put mine on at all now though, a few people said it's stiffer than stock and I don't want to make it that much stiffer. I think I'm gonna leave it with just Strut/Springs for right now and see how I like it.

Also it's not encouraging to see that you ordered so long ago and they haven't sent it yet...maybe I shouldn't wait for them since they still haven't filled orders from 2 months ago.

The FSTB or the RSB does not make the ride stiffer, it helps in handling, going left and right otherwise you don't feel it

You see anything wrong with the Stillen RSB as opposed to waiting for the Racingline RSB? Only thing I see (besides the metal quality) is that I need to get polyurethane bushings in addition since it came with none.

I test drove the sport but ended up buying the premium. I then added the Eibach springs for a lowered look and a stiffer ride. After the change I noticed an immediate harshness that i really don't like.

IMO the stock sport the best. I believe the sport has different struts and springs that make it different.

Yes they have 2 settings, mine is on the softer setting or whatever its called.
I remember before I ordered them, I emailed them 3 or 4 times, never got any response, weird!

The only reason I ordered it from them was the 2 settings and the reviews.
As far as customer service, they SUCK.

That's not normal if its been that long.
Good luck.
