I didn't have much use for a heated steering wheel when I began driving back in the 1940s, but the circulation in my gnarly old hands is now so bad I can't drive during the cooler half of the year without a heated steering wheel.

For years I tried using gloves, but my fingers still went totally numb from the cold. During the 1990s, my wife had to do the driving for me during cool weather. Almost crushed my macho image. But once I bought my '04 Maxima with heated steering wheel, she hardly ever gets to drive. Same with my '09.

When I go car shopping, I never even glance at anything that doesn't have a heated steering wheel.

 

I can understand the issue with the circulation. For me I always wear gloves in winter and I find the steering wheel plus gloves makes my hands too hot, so I never get a heated steering wheel.

 

You need to negotiate really well at BMW otherwise you pay top dollar for a badge, but most people are buying cars with money they don't have

A family friend just bought a ALPINA B7, sticker on the car was like 120 something, he got the car for 80k, that car is not missing one option

Just negotiate, also know what inventory they have, so they can't pull the oh we might not have that, although the 5 has been selling pretty well so when the cars move off the lots with little to no effort expect to pay more

 

I read every post in this thread prior to buying my Maxima. I did go to the Infiniti dealer and look at the G37, and agree that it is a totally different vehicle than the Maxima. It seems that there are totally different target markets for both vehicles. I do believe the Maxima is the better value and better vehicle, for a family type sedan.

 

I just purchased a 2012 Maxima SV with premium package and premiun tech package ++ sticker 40,879 paid 38,700 and it included a 3 years maintenace plan . Get to pick it up tonight .

 

Congrats, mine was around that price to, tax and interest is a *****, I envy your advanced tire pressure monitor system that tells you what pressure is in each tire

This is a very important time of year to check tire pressure. Tires that read 33 psi in 90 degree weather can read 30 psi or less when the weather turns very cold. Our three thermometers all read 85 degrees Monday, but we are topping out at 53 degrees today (Wednesday).

And don't forget the spare tire.

As the same specs and tables in the Maxima owners manual are used in the manuals for several vehicles (such as the Murano), that manual is very difficult in which to obtain specific information on such things as tire pressure. So tire pressure is posted inside such places as the center console.

Nissan recommends 33 psi for the Maxima. Carrying much less than that risks triggering the TPMS warning system. I carry 37 in my front tires and 35 in the rear, which gives even tread wear for my normal load and driving style (I am almost never alone in my car, always have a lot of stuff in the trunk, and make endless sharp turns as I cover every street in many neighborhoods on a regular basis). For most drivers, I would recommend 35 psi all around.

I believe the spare requires 60 (SIXTY!) psi. If that is not correct, someone here please pipe in.

 

anyone knows about the Camry to comment it compare to the Maxima. Camry SE loaded MSRP is around 31K.
