but if u change the color of the spdom it wont look right because the rest of the interior and mood light will be orange and i mean like the button on the steering wheel and the door and center console. i really dont know why they picked orange but i dont like it either

I don't like the orange lights either. I'm guessing the reason they use orange is because it does not ruin night vision. It takes eyes nearly an hour to gradually adjust to the see better in the dark. Dashboard lights can prevent maximum adjustment unless they are in the reddish end of the spectrum. Many Aircraft instrument panels use orange/red for this reason.

I think Nissan still uses orange backlighting is for the sport factor. BMW does that as well b/c of their sport oriented mission as is Nissan and Infiniti. Infiniti changed it b/c enough people complained and most of the other luxury manu had blue or white back lighting. At least Nissan made the gauge cluster white and did not keep it yellow/orange like pre 2007.

Well Nissan has used orange colored dash lights in the past, they used it from 79 to 89 on various models. They included Z's of those years, 200 sx's etc, but no Maximas. It is quite baffling although that they reverted back to it in some aspect, sporty or not it just not very appealing.
