Bose Sound System

Not sure if my Max has the Bose sound system. It doesn't have navigation. Any way I can check?

I believe the bose sound system is part of the "premium" package.

Doesn't all SV models have Bose? Which your sports package should include.

I think the words bose are just written there for looks, There really is nothing Bose about it, IMO.

I read somewhere in the 7th Gen forum that the 2 mini subs are Bose while the other speakers are Clarion. I have a 2010 with the Sport and Monitor package.

I wasn't exactly impressed with it either. The "front center stage" sound effect they go for is weird, and people in the back seat can't hear as well because the system is designed with the rear speakers underpowered. I threw in a 12" sub/amp in the trunk, swapped out the two laughable Bose subs with some 6.5" Infinity Reference speakers and spliced them into the front speakers. MAN what an improvement. If you want well balanced crisp sounding music with all ranges of sound from front or back seat, I highly recommend it. Just gotta play with the HPF to get things to jive nicely.

You know what the audiophiles say...
"No highs no lows, must be bose! ".
True for those marketing gimmick home systems, but Bose seems to do a fine job in the automotive world.
I have an SV and I think this sounds awesome for a stock system. Overall its the best system I have ever had. I have the Nav, fwiw.

I guess it's just how picky you are with your music. I think my stock system is just fine. I'll probably just end up adding a sub and amp

I think that Nissan had the Bose "right" in the 4th gen, and it was a pretty good first effort in the 3rd gen. 5th through 7th its just hum hum..........not all that.

I run a recording studio on the weekends so having things balanced well by default is important to me everywhere I listen to music. The stock system sounded fine to me from the front seats, never really tested it in the back but I could tell from panning front/back the rear speakers were quieter than the front because most of the noise in the back came from the stock subs.

It became an issue when I added a 500 watt (peak 1500) 12" sub right behind the back seats and now the rear passengers just hear "BOOM BOOM BOOM" because they have the 2 stock 6.5" subs and my 12 right behind them. My boy said "I could barely breath"...hahaha.

So this was my solution to reduce some of the BOOM for my rear passengers and add some music that sounded exactly like the front. 6.5" Infinity's instead of subs, spliced into front speakers instead of rear woofer connection, and voila. Got the idea from another thread on here actually, can't remember which but they nailed it. Keep in mind I did this to help the rear passengers, not me in the front seats. In the front it sounds fine.

As mentioned, this only became a problem because I added a sub. If you like the stock system, it by itself sounds fine despite the odd equalization. If you like classical music, it sounds amazing on Bose systems for example. Hip Hop though? Not so much.

Anyone know if I can put a INFINITI FX 35 BOSE TRUNK SUBWOOFER in a 2011 Maxima... Just checking to see if anyone has done this and if it will actually fit as is or if I will need to make some modifications...
Apparently, Bose doesn't make subs for aftermarket, only for stock systems... Like it was mentioned earlier that the stock system does not really work great if you like to listen to Hip Hop....
The reason I am looking into the FX35 sub is because it sits in the spare tire itself, so it does not take any extra space in the trunk and is hidden
