Dropped off at the dealer

So I dropped it off at the dealer today at 7:30. They need to work on

1. Redo all the tints on windows. First time around, the guy didnt do a great job so they are going to remove and redo.
2. Tire sensor light does not get turned off.
3. Bluetooth audio streaming music is somtimes choppy TSB.
4. Drivers seat rocking TSB.
5. Rear deck audio is low.

What do you think the liklihood they will have it done by today. Oh, all the parts had been pre-ordered.

yes. It was part of the deal I negotiated. And yes, they gave me a rental since the tint thing was their guys fault.

lol...not much beating I can do in a Chevy Cobalt. Let me tell you, I'm a big guy and I feel like this thing is like one of those cars that you rub on the carpet and then they go.

I hate getting loaners. You have to pay for their daily insurance or risk getting any damage put on yours.

Normally most of the times, including this one, I just use my own insurance and dont have to pay for any supplemental and I use the AMEX which also carries a supplemental insurance also. So I end up never buying the insurance.

So I just got a call from the dealer...car will not be ready today. The seat replacement repair process was much harder than they realized. So tomorrow morning it is, for now at least.

Wow they actually installed your tints? Was this a Used Car Dealer? Because I know in New Jersey they would never do this for you.

It was used, but at an actual Nissan dealership. I've heard NJ is silly crazy about tinting vehicles. Stuff like cops are always giving tickets for tints. Downhere in Florida, its almost expected to get your vehicle tinted. You still arent supposed go lower 35%, but still.

I'm also interested in the seat fix. I have it but it doesn't bother me very much and I'm afraid they may do more damage than good.

That's because tint all around is illegal in NJ. It's fairly common for new car dealers in states that allow at least 35% tint all around to have a tint guy that does their new cars (either at the customer's request or for a car going in the showroom).

In New Jersey, tint is only illegal on the front two windows (any %)

So, I picked it up Saturday morning. Here's the outcome.

1. Tints - Finanlly done properly with no debris under the paper.

2. Tire sensor light - Reset and looks fine.

3. Bluetooth audio streaming - The audio no longer goes choppy, but now when I advance to the next song I get this weird thing. The song advances about 1 to 2 seconds into the song. I reset and re-paiered the devices and still happens.

4. Drivers seat rocking TSB - it worked. No more rocking. Although I have read other threads where people have gotten it fixed and a few weeks later its back. Keeping my fingers crossed.

5. Rear deck audio - They said that it was comprable to others Maximas on the lot, so there was nothing to fix. Has anyone else noticed this. When I have a song playing with heavy bass, it sounds like it is only coming from the doors. I've played with the adjusting of audio controls, but never get anything over marginally better.

All in all, an OK experience with the dealer. A little late, but at least they did everything and only messed up one new thing.
