New Camera, New Pictures
Bought my first DSLR on Wednesday. Washed her today...washed, polished and waxed last Sunday. Here are my first tries at taking night shots of my car on my camera.
EDIT: Oh btw I got a Canon Rebel T3i with a 18-55mm kit lense

I guess I'll be the first hater and say the T3i isnt worth the $$$ over the T2i... i feel like the swivel screen would break after a year or so. sexy 7th none the less though. (yes i'm a T2i owner lol)
Edit: For night shots: Tripod+longer exposures+Lower ISO (less grainy pix) = more sexiness.

Congratulations on the SLR; now get ready to be spending some money on accessories. Once I got my Nikon it developed into a serious obsession on taking better photos. Enjoy!
I took these around 9PM at night but as you can see with a tripod and a bit of manipulation you can make it look pretty interesting.

Same photo with different manipulation.

You mean a nice piece of glass that is more expensive than what you're screwing it on?
dSLR is a fun hobby where you start of thinking that, oh, I finally bought myself a nice dSLR, I can take nice(r) photos now. Then you realize that the 18-55mm kit it came with is nothing compared to an 18-105mm that costs twice as much as the body...
