What recording program do you use?

I record a lot of music onto burned CDs to be ripped onto the Maxima hard drive. I used to use iTunes, but have had problems recently where the Maxima stops recording songs from the CD by the 2nd song. It used to work before, but now suddenly I have this problem. Does anyone use any other programs with no problems (and includes CD text)?

I'll have to try this then! Do you click Create and Audio CD or create an MP3?

Create an Audio CD. Our cars can read MP3 CD's but it can't rip the MP3 to the music box for some reason. At least not mine? Haha..

Agreed. I started out by ripping CDs to the music box but it was taking too long and it was annoying to navigate. Ended up getting a Blackberry Stereo Gateway and plugging it into the RCA jacks to give my car BT audio. Cool cause my phone pairs with both my car and the Blackberry thing so it works like the newer Max's. Pandora FTW!

Just a heads up on this fellas - if anything goes wrong with your musicbox that they have to replace it...I asked, and there is NO way they could transfer your music files for you. You have to start from scratch all over again with your music. I asked while at my dealer yesterday and am pissed because like some of you out there, I have spent a buttload of time recording cds. Pretty gay

they probably rip the music off the CD's in some weird format, otherwise they'd have been smart and let it support MP3's too. you could fit a whole ton more of MP3's in the music box than complete CD's. either way though the music box is annoying to navigate and too many horror stories about losing everything/not being able to transfer anything makes it seem not too useful. Pandora ftw.

UPDATE: I fixed the problem. This is something I haven't seen anywhere else, and I don't see to many threads talking about the MusicBox. Hopefully this helps if anyone else is in the same boat.

I recently had a problem where my music box would record the first song and then poop out. After much fiddling, the problem was fixed by adding spacing in-between songs (at least 4 seconds) when I burned CDs. You can edit this in iTunes right before the burn. I also slowed down my burn speed to "8X" instead of "Maximum Possible." I think in doing this your burn settings are much closer to an actual published CD. Since I've done this, the car records CDs about 3X faster than it used to it's amazing. Thought it might be interesting information to have.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe a limit of the 09? I can play MP3 CD's in my Max but the "Record" button is not there. I only see the option to record to the Music Box on "audio CD's" which is a pain because I don't even buy/burn those types of CD's anymore.

Thanks for the tips, this is helpful! Definitely seemed to take longer than the length of the CD for it to record it to the music box, be nice if that option was quicker.
