LED Side View Mirror Condensation.

Ok to all those with the side view mirror turn signals...i noticed mine started to get condensation on both sides. So i brushed it off for a bit figuring it will evaporate in the sun. It did not. So I finally went to the service dept to have it checked. After about 40 min the guys call me over and state that it's a normal condition. WHAT!!!!was my reaction. I started flipping for a sec than regained my composure and asked why he thought this was "normal". He proceeded to show me a bulletin showing that "Any king of condensation" on ANY of the exterior lamps is normal. NO freaking way. I asked for the corporate number because i knew that was bull****. I even told him a week ago when i came by their manager said that he never saw that before and for me to make an appointment for it to be looked at. The guys was like "I'm just following the bulletin." I took the bulletin and went to my car and started to read the dam thing, and in the "diagnosing procedure" it stated that if after 20-30 min of turning on the blinkers the problem doesn't go away it's a defect. I know the guy didn't do that because i was watching him the whole time. I called the manager over and showed him the bulletin and asked him to "diagnose the problem" and i stated since the tech "DID EVERYTHING THE BULLETIN SAID" and diagnosed the problem and it's still there......what should we do now? A new part was ordered for me and they will call me when it comes for me to get it replaced.

Man, I hear some horror stories about Nissan dealers you guys go to! I had the same thing happen. Nissan of Chantilly said "yup, that's a defect and we'll order a whole new mirror assembly factory painted today".

I'm sorry, but condensation in ANY light assy is not normal. If you had condensation in your OEM headlamp or tail lenses, that is not normal and means that the factory didn't seal them up properly. I know my buddies 09 Altima SE has the same issue. I think the seal around the clear plastic was just a poor design on Nissan's part, but the dealers should be taking care of it without much hassle.

My dealer replaced my driver's side mirror because of the same issue, no questions asked. They said if it ever happened to the passenger side to just call them and they will order that one for me too. It took about a week for the mirror to come in and a couple days for paint. Yes, it is covered under warranty, and no, it is not normal.

That's odd... they ordered the entire driver's side mirror, but it didn't come pre-painted? Interesting...

But yeah, that kind of thing is definitely covered under your normal warranty and is not "normal" as that dumba$$ service rep said it was. Hope all goes well when they get the new mirror in

That's good news! There's actually a TSB out for condensation in the lenses (headlight, taillight, etc) saying that "some condensation is normal". To me, this "TSB" is a bunch of "BS".

Glad to hear the dealership was able to help ya out!

It wasn't a big deal at first, Something I could of lived with but then I noticed that from all the condensation buildup inside the light it burnt out 2 L.E.D lights on the drives side. Here's a few pictures of what I'm talking about..

I had condensation in my passenger mirror turn signal and the dealership changed it out since it was covered under warranty.

One question though...the mirror itself is different than my driver's mirror. Hard to explain, but the black edge around the mirror is not as thick as the driver's side. I guess this is due to the driver's side having auto-dim?

When I have found the TSB for this online it simply says, "Condensation is normal, currently all light fixtures are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed)."

Is there somewhere else you are seeing TSB's than me?
