time for the nav update.
no problem, I never provided a link but I just checked and it's on the website NAVTEQ,
http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...dMenuItem=Home
Im sure most with OEM Nav get the emails and have the website bookmarked, by the way awesome name

But I agree from my limited experience with Acura's nav it has never steered me wrong.
I'm not a very big fan of the Lexus nav at all. My mother has an IS 350 with the latest nav update and man it is terrible. For some reason it always gets all of the nearby streets correct on the screen, but when it's calculating routes and giving directions it will take you completely out of the way and have you making unnecessary turns so it never gets used

my Nissan Nav is probably on par with Toyota, but that was my 06 Maxima and my fathers 07 ES350, but I love when I hear people compare their new OEM nav to their 3/5 year old cars nav, that is like comparing playstation to playstation 3
The update is worth it tech-wise. It did show a lot of the street updates and corrections here in Maryland. Money wise it sucks. Navteq gets a cut just for a code number then the dealership charges an installation charge. It would make more sense to get the update code and get the update installed AT THE SAME PLACE!
The nav updates are not an ongoing thing. As I understand it, a new version is released once each year. Don't count on a new version having all those roads that were changed in the last two years. When I had my new release from NAVTEQ downloaded, it brought my streets forward from four years old to two years old.
Do these require a NAV dvd for updates then? I was told the other day at Nissan that the navigation will automatically update as time goes on, I imagine wirelessly.. but this is also coming from the dealership that told me the only way to play dvds in the maxima is by having one wired up with the RCA plugs. lol.

I just checked my owners manual for the navigation system (page 7-17). The update for the 2011 is not wireless. You have to order the updated DVD-ROM and then insert the DVD containing the new map data and then allow the system to update. My only question is: how will they keep people from sharing the new DVD? Does it automatically erase the DVD after the update is performed? If not, they will be losing money. (But then again, that's not our problem.) -- Apparently, this is for 2010 and 2011 models. The 2009's require you to purchase the code and then go to the dealership.
