I popped in a DVD today and was ready to go through the stupid push button cycle....OFF-ACC-ON. And pressed it real fast while the car was ON, it went immediately to ACC! I've been trying to accomplish this for the longest time without formerly changing the cycle. Will try it again after the movie's over to confirm. Score.

Next time try and double tap the push start while your foot is on the brake.

What this possibly means is that majority of owners don't read the owner's manual.

IIRC, the push start button functions as follows

Tap once for dummy lights,
Tap once while pressing the brake pedal for vehicle on
Tap twice quickly for OFF with accessory mode ON (power to all electronics)
Tap twice quickly while the car is ON to go from engine ON to engine OFF with accessory mode ON
