Racingline Y-pipe install issue

I went to a shop one of my buddies lifted the car up and took off the original y-pipe and intalled the racingline one. Soon as he brought it down I went t take it for a drive. Car definetly has more pull and i can tell the difference with the sound just a bit, but when i hit any kind of pothole bump small or big one it had a rumbling squkee sound in the rear section of my exhaust it gets pretty loud sometimes and I get embarrased driving like that. I pulled up to his shop not to long ago and he said that it might be the bushings on the exhaust. Why and what should I do guy's. I cannot drive like that anyone please.

odds are it has nothing to do with the y-pipe, my guess is rear sway bar bushing is busted, any shop should be able to put it on a lift and check it out for you though

Forgot to ask if you got it fixed? probably a bushing from the exhaust cant be serious.

Did the shop only touch the front y-pipe section of the exhaust? Could very well be the flange gaskets (usually the first culprit for exhaust squeaks besides putting some lube on the exhaust hangers).

alright problem solved, the two parts where arrows are pointing are rubbing together causing said squeak, just cut a small piece of the circled area and thats it

Is racingline the only maker of y-pipes for 2011? Do we get a discount from them?

looks like to me after doing a test fit of the Y-pipe and taking it back down then hitting that brace between the new pipes with a hammer and a chisel would solve that clearance problem...

Well i had an issue with my y pipe! we had to modify it to fit it was 1.5" longer than my stock y pipe -_- i sent pics to racingline and i gotta say they didn't really give a sh*t.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

do you think you could have loosen the rest of the exhaust system to give you enough play to have gotten the Y-pipe bolted up without modifying the new pipe? did you try bolting the Y to the pipe before bolting the Y to the exhaust manifold?

Cuting and welding was the last thing we wanted to do but no luck. tried moving the exhaust but still wasnt enough. Good thing my buddy is the shop owner he didnt charge me for the mod.

So I decided to buy myself an exhaust system. But, I don't know which one should I buy I need your help guy's. There are 3 cat-back's that are available, Stillen, Borla and now there is a new Megan. I listened to all 3 of them and I like Stillen the most! Megan sounds good (no silencer) only but I just don't think it's louder than Stillen.

I have a Stillen CAI and Racingline Y-Pipe with a full cat-back I should be set! So let me know what's better ;-) Thx guy's!

Basically no one told me what I should get... Well I came up with my own idea and this is what I have done.

I went to my buddy's shop and I told him to pick up my car cut off my resonator and put a straight pipe instead, original size. When everything was done I started up the car and I noticed a G37 Roar at the start. When i rev it up the car sounds almost like a G37 or G35 but it does have a little bit of a raspy soubnd but it's ok.

I will post up a video on youtube very soon and let you hear it.

Nice, 7th gen already sounds good so without resonator should be sweeter. But Of course u know that your not getting any gains with just that. But if your wanted catback just for sounds you saved yourself money buy just deleting resonator on factory muffs.

Yes, you will get more power and much better sound! I leave a stock Maxima by 3 cars stilll pulling. If you go on youtube and type in search g35 hks exhaust click the first video with the black g35 coupe that's how your car will sound it will be even deeper no joke! Everyone stares at me and are confusing my car with a G37 lol. I even heard by standers saying that car "mine" sounds like a G. You will be surprised!

Stillen Intake Racingline Y-Pipe and deleted resonator that's all you need.

Old thread --- I want to point out that the piece to cut is part of the rear exhaust hanger and not at the front by the Y pipe. I had the same issue after installing RL Y pipe.
