yea I grabbed my Takeda SRI off Amazon on sale for like $200, at that price i couldn't resist. tried an R2C intake as well, was basically the same in terms of noise/speed/temps. went the CAI route but a lot of people on here love their short rams

I end up getting the STillen...question though, has anyone with these aftermarket intakes taken the car to the dealer, you know with that whole warranty void deal?
If you did, did the dealership say anything/record anything?
I had an appointment today that i skipped, but they needed to change my mirror turn LEDs and the thigh support extension...i was kind of afraid to take it in with the intake and ahve them void the warranty...
The other strange thing that all Stillen Parts you can get through Nissan dealerships... so to there is some sort of "disconnect"

Here is the reply i got from Stillen:
Thank you for your inquiry!
No, our intakes will not void your factory warranty.

The Magnuson-Moss Act protects comsumers like you when it comes to aftermarket products.
What hear is your Maxima?

from the Act:
The federal minimum standards for full warranties are waived if the warrantor can show that the problem associated with a warranted consumer product was caused by damage while in the possession of the consumer, or by unreasonable use, including a failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance.

So in so many words they would have to prove that the intake, in case of engine failure, was the primary cause of the event hence voiding the warranty

actually yes the intake does void a warranty. it voids the warranty on your intake, since it's no longer owned by Nissan lol. the only negative ive ever heard of is if the filter is overoiled the oil can get on the MAF sensor and cause CEL to come on. beyond that i dont think any mechanic would be dumb enough to try to blame any problem on your intake unless it wasn't installed correctly

Sorry to bump this but I'm too new and can't make new threads. Anyway, I installed the K&N this weekend was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same thing I am. So when I floor it (got to see if there's a performance gain right?) and then let off, the CVT keeps the revs high 3.5k-4k even though I'm off the throttle. Anyone else experience this?

Granted I only put like two miles on the car since I've installed it because it snowed like hell last night and I didn't get to take it out this morning. I'm thinking (hoping) the MAF may just need to adjust to the amount of air being taken in. Anyone else experience this?

Oh, and this is the unit I put on http://www.amazon.com/69-7002TTK-Typ...3138047&sr=8-1

Amazon has this for $205? That's about a $100 off everyone else. I might have to grab one now.

The amazon price changes a lot... i bought mine for about $200. took about an hour and half to install. Directions given helped, but can use some changes. Steps that were given toward the end of installation should be done earlier because its difficult to screw on some parts. Have to say its DEF worth it, sounds nice. ill post a pic if anyone wants
