I have the exact same issue and have heard others do as well. Not sure what it is.

you may want to check your brake fluid levels and top up as needed.

The sensor in the reservoir doesn't detect brake fluid when you accelerate hard. The fluid moves to the back of the reservoir away from the sensor, triggering the light.

LtLeary, bigjoe and T200 are correct.

And T200's explanation is right. When the dash brake light come on during accelleration, that means the brake fluid is NOT quite low enough to trigger the light when the car is at rest or cruising, but IS low enough to drop below the sensor when the fluid rushes to the rear of the brake fluid reservoir when we accellerate.

This is a very normal situation for the 7th gen. Those who have not experienced this yet will eventually do so. No big deal, unless we ignore the light and let the fluid keep gradually dropping.

My Explorer was the opposite - the brake check light would come on when I hit the brakes hard and there was low fluid.

Which means the sensor in the Explorer brake fluid reservoir was located at the REAR of the reservoir. On the Maxima, the sensor is located at the FRONT of the reservoir.
