Ok I've searched and I can't find my answer so here goes. I just picked up another set of '10 Maxima wheels with Continental Winter tires already mounted up. It appears the TPMS are there so my question is this - can I just bolt these on my car or does the dealer have to "program" the sensors for my car? If programming is needed, is there a way I can do it myself?

I'm pretty handy in the garage so I'd like to avoid another trip to the dealer if possible.

the dealer has to reprogram it, there's some procedure to do it yourself that involves specific timing/grounding certain wires that i didnt wanna mess with. especially if they're OEM Maxima wheels just go to Nissan and tell them your light came on, they'll reset it for free

I'm getting 20 inch Vossen 078's this spring. I have a Maxima S. IDK whether or not my vehicle has a tire pressure monitor system. If it does, can I use the stock monitoring system without spending more $$$$ THX!

Looks like I won't need to do anything. Put the wheels/tires on tonight, test drove, no warning lights came on.

I just put my winters on the other day. It took two days before the light to come on...

Yes. Because they are not related to each other at all.

Absolutely correct. In fact, the TPMS system is totally isolated, with no connection to, or effect on any other system in the car.

Yeah they're built into the valve stems. They're just bolted on so you can slap them in your new rims no problem. I think that's what you were asking at least heh.

Yeah 85s. I got them from elementwheels.com. Cheapest place i could find them online. Honestly right now my car rides like ****, but i think it's a combination of several things.

On my old Maxima i had 19s with Bridgestone Potenzas and they were balanced by tire rack. That thing rode like i was driving on glass. This Max with the 20s and Hankook Evos balanced by Gateway rides like you're rallying. Plus i haven't gotten an alignment since i did the springs, FTSB, RSB, and endlinks.

I think once i get an alignment and balance from someone that knows what the hell they're doing it'll ride good. If not i'll switch back to Potenzas even though they're expensive as all hell.

I dont know if this is related but I bent one of my rims recently so the traction control/VDC shut off randomly and each time I floor it a little bit the brake light comes on. Is anyone having simliar problems?? i also just put new tires and the 19 sport rims on and its still doing it

First thing I would check is the brake fluid level. Most 7th gen Maximas need a topping off of the brake fluid during the first year or so. The brake light on the dash has several purposes, one of which is to indicate low brake fluid.
