New 7th Gen Owner with Help Needed

Hey guys I've been a memeber of this forum for years, since I got my first car which was a 2000 Maxima SE. Since then I moved on to a 2002 Acura TL-S, then a 2009 Altima 2.5 SL.

This past monday I became the proud owner of a 2012 Maxima S Limited Edition. Just wanted to share a few shots of my car on the lot, and my one mod which was a matte black grille. I also added LED interior and license plate lights.

I did the grille in Plasti Dip. My ultimate idea is to also do the badges, the chrome trunk trim, and the chrome window trim plasti dipped. However, I unsuccessfully did both as I thought they came out rather sloppy looking. If anyone local to Freehold, NJ can help me out with this I can supply beer and lunch one day

Hey man, I'm located near Hightstown, and I want to try it (I have the same color '12 as you). Send me a PM and we can take a look. There is also a meet this Saturday in Edison if you aren't busy. Details in the Northeast forum area.

What makes it a limited edition? Never heard of it...just asking here

One trick with plastidip, is you cant really use masing tape...if you do then peel the tape off while the plastidip is wet, or use exacto knife on all conmtouring edges

It's a new 2012 option for the S model only from what the brochure says. Dark wheels, HID, side marker turns, spoiler, grill, and fogs.

Nice pics of the car. I am diggin the darker LE wheels. The only thing is that they are only 18s instead of 19s. You can still roll with them until you can get something that you really want though.

thanks for all of the compliments, im loving the 7th gen so far... especially coming out of the 4 cyl altima its a night and day difference... absolutely no comparison.

I appreciate the links to the new badges, I was hoping to dip them without removing them from the car though, because im just afraid i will never get the placement quite right again. the problem is my plasti dip work is horrendous. The edges get frayed and it doesn't look clean. The grille was a piece of cake because I removed it from the car, but im having trouble with the other pieces

On deck for mods: HID Foglights (already have them from my altima ... same bulb size)
replace the non bose speakers, and add a sub.

in the near future: Coilovers. don't think i am going to go springs this time around, the eibachs busted my altima's struts, so I am just going to go all in.

yeah that's how plastidip is, you either have to remove the masking tape while it is still wet, so the edges don't rip/fray, or you trace it with a razorblade when you're done to get a clean edge
