Roof spoiler on the way from Taiwan

Ordered the Ebay spoiler from Shadow Speed. Should arrive in 2 days. For those that were interested, he's back from vacation and now shipping. For $88, should be an interesting addition.

3 days, door to door from Taiwan to New Jersey. I am impressed!

Looks nice on a White car with the black pano, although I wish it was a bit larger.

^ Was wondering if it would be too much with the trunk spoiler, but it looks good. Might get one one day.

Got mine a couple days ago.. The instructions provided mention an alcohol pad and adhesion promoter but I did no receive those... Did anyone receive that?
What can i use for that? Is it needed or is the tape fine?
Thx!

When I got mine from him, I don't remember getting the things you mentioned. But I did clean the area of the roof very well. And I just installed it with the 3m tape on the back. Well, over time, mine became lose on the ends and I strengthened it by putting a little bit of super glue. That is what I did. Maybe others did something else or maybe theirs have never become lose like mine was. I hope this helps a little.

None of that was in mine, but use some rubbing alcohol and clean the window from any grease spots. And you can safely add the spoiler.

Super glue isnt the beast idea, black silicone is... had alot of experience with it, so when it doesn come up loose then add silicone beads and you'll be fine.

The best way to go about it is to actually bead it now this way the tape will allow for the closest adhesion while the silicone for the longest

NO silicone! us 3m adhesive promoter! I use this stuff at my work for anything that uses doublesided tape, and will stick forever!

I cleaned the glass with rubbing alcohol (regular alcohol went in my belly), then just stuck it on. Might have been easier with another person to align the other end to fit the curvature of the area, but took me only about 5 minutes.

I did not receive any other adhesion, but went through a car wash already and it held fine.
I should mention that I had chrome headlight rings on my previous car for over ten years with just the 3M tape holding them on. That tape is hard-core!

I'd attach a pic, but it looks the same as Eesjun's

I got mine in the mail today - it seems awfully straight compared to the curvature of the roof. It will bend/curve for a nice fit? I was expecting something a little more shapely to the roof/rear window.

Ya I was wondering the same thing but it bends well as you see in the pics.. I used the pieces of the cardboard box folded in half and stuck them in the space between the roof and glass as spacers and used painters tape to shape and hold the spoiler while it was setting.. But whatever works for you.. Good luck and post some pics when done...

Yeah, I only see pics of the install and not the spoiler beforehand... Maybe need to wait for a really not day so the spoiler softens a bit in the sun.
