New to the 7th Gen Ownership Family, Suprised!
I just traded in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for a 2012 SV w/ Premium Package. I had just purchased my brand-new Jeep back in November of '11, but had already racked up over 20k miles, as I usually drive about 4-5k miles per month for work. With the used car market being so high and trade-in values being crazy, I jumped on it. Had purchased the Jeep for $33,033, and got $32,980 on trade....cheapest 20k miles I've ever driven, especially after being reimbursed at 55 cents per mile from my employer!
Anyway, picked up the '12 SV w/ Premium Package as a dealer demo with about 3k miles for $29k. Crimson Black with the Cafe Latte interior. Tough decision, as they also had a Silver with Black interior '12 SV with Prem and Tech for $31k, ultimately, I just didn't want another dark interior.
Already over 9k miles on the clock in 4 weeks, but really enjoying the car. No laundry list of mods on my to-do list, but did just have a local shop do 50% tint (Minnesota Legal...they wouldn't budge), as well as slap on a 3M clearbra, $250 combined, pretty fair deal.
My biggest suprise so far is actually this forum, I've owned several BMWs (3 series and 5 series), a MB E350, Jag XJR, and several other high-line autos, but have never seen a forum with so few mechanical problems being discussed! I guess that's the benefit of steering away from the European imports! Normal-priced oil changes will also be a nice change!
As mentioned in greater detail in another post, I also added a 5-yr 100k comprehensive warranty, as I plan on driving this to about 75k then giving it to my wife for a couple years.
Here's to happy driving in the new ride, so far so good! (pic added below, as I know I'd be hazed without one!)

Nice ride. You really got an excellent deal for your trade. Also, why do you want to give this car to your wife only after 75k? So she can start dealing with the problems then? I think you should let her drive it till 75K and give it to you, lol. Just kidding, its your choice how you do it.
About your choice of a tan interior, I prefer a dark interior to a tan interior as it is tough to maintain a tan interior. Also, the tan interior can easily get stained.
Anyway, enjoy the ride. It sure looks good.

Nice, I wanted the Cafe Latte interior with the 2010 CB but could located one at the time. Settled on the black interior because I had to have the CB color. Keep it clean and detailed and you'll get almost daily compliments, I guarantee it.

My wife loves to get door dings and people "always seem to bump her", there's no way I put her in new cars. However the Max will be paid off in 12 months or less and still have the 100k warranty when I retire it to my wife. I'm also meticulous, it will still look brand-new.
The trade really just came down to the economics. I made about $7k on driving that Jeep (after covering gas expenses) in 6 months.
With mileage reimbursement and 4-5k miles a month, my cars don't stay in my garage long. The window for a successful flip tends to be about 6-9 months with the used car and trade-in markets as high as they are.
The Max won't be a flip though, going to sell my wife's 09 Cadillac STS next year and then likely start the flipping again.
