Touch up paint!

Ugh...ordered touch up paint for my 2011 Winter Frost Maxima @ the dealership a few months ago. The guy @ the parts dept input the VIN & it gave him the QX1 code. Not thinking anything of it since he used the VIN, I apply the paint to a few spots on my bumper & notice that the color doesn't quite match up. Do some research & looks like I'm supposed to have the QX3! I know it ultimately my fault, but damn! I guess I'll have to exchange what they gave me & paint over the other stuff.

So, let this be a lesson...double check your paint code before you apply the paint!

For future notice, the paint code is in the drivers side front door jam. Look for C/TR and the 3 letter and number combo after it is the paint code.

It's basic black, so I just used the one from local parts store.

I recently got a black scuff on my rear bumper. I got really pissed and was gonna call the dealer to see how much touch up paint was. My wife then recommended that I try a Mr. Clean magic eraser and sure enough, took that scuff right out. Just an FYI for anybody out there.

As in a shoe mark scuff or as in it went into the paint..and magically worked? Elaborate more..Because I have some scuffs and its through the paint and I do have the touch up paint..but it will never be the same..obviously.

Like a shoe mark scuff. I tried using soap and water, scrubbing and such and wouldn't come off. Then I tried the magic eraser and the scuff came off. If you're thinking about using touch up paint anyway, might as well give it a try.
