I'm assuming this has to do with the steering linkage?

I would suggest going back and getting the whole story from the service dept.
If your car doesn't have the issue I wouldn't worry about it.
But then again if you are running oversized wheels and a heavliy modified suspension you may be headed in this direction
Maybe this a CV joint issue? Sounds like a "knuckle headed" sevice rep calling it a knuckle recall? Only they will know.

lowered car, aftermarket wheels, obvious hub issues will occur your service advisor/tech may have seen some premature wear and mentioned it to you, and of course they say it might be a recall, that is like the default word at a dealership, let me check to see if its a recall or tsb

well my fear is that the dealer will try to use the suspension mod as a scapegoat to avoid fixing it. That's if there are any problems related to a recall. As of now it's ok. The cv joints seem to be ok, I just inspected it and no cracks or leaks.

good thing is the car is easy to swap back to oem suspension so it's cool u know. The visual effects of a very low car, deep dish wheels on a strong profile car such as the maxima is very satisfying.

Most dealers know with certain cars, owners change things and its expected, but some dealers, the small select few are asses and thankfully I have only read about them, never experienced it.
