Clear Bra or Front End Protection 2012 Max
Clear Bra or Front End Protection 2012 Max
New to the forum today. Just bought a new 7th gen yesterday and I wanted to know if anyone has used either of these products as front bumper, hood, etc protection on a 2012 Max SV? If not can you please recommend something that you know works well and is easy to install? I prefer clear type of protection and not a leather type bra.
1) Rvinyl = Rvinyl Performance Films
2) 3M Scotchgard 8mil Clear Pain Protection Film
3) True-line Silver Chrome Hood Wrap

I got the clear protection kit from eBay seller nusolis.. It is a really good price and I have had it on for about a year now and looks great without fading..it is not 3m though.. But a very good price.. Do your research and the decision is ultimately yours on what you buy..
On another note.. Isnt the maxima a freaking nice car!

I had the 3m installed by a dealer in my area. It is a great kit and the film is top notch, I've had it on my other two cars. Just make sure you take care of it and get a good installer. It's a small price to pay for the protection!
I've had clear bra installed on 3 cars as well. First have the 3M clear bra installed on my wifes 2010 TL. Just had the front bumper cover, front beak, & two pcs just above the headlights done. Nothing else and they charged me $350. I had a quote from another guy for $700.(too much)
The second time I had it done on my 2011 4Runner. But this time I bought the Mega Kit from eBay seller nusolis and had my tint guy install it for me. Did everything on the truck and he charged me $300.
The 3rd car I justhad done was my wifes 2012 Maxima SV. Again bought the Mega Kit of E-Bay and had my tint guy install it again. He charged me $250.
Here are my observations concerning the choices and what you will need to decide. The clear bra on the TL was laser cut and fit perfectly on the car. i only requested certain parts of the car to be done. The clear bra kits I bought from E-Bay are good quality, but the fit is not as good as a laser cut one. Remember they say you get what you pay for?
I wanted the entire front of my truck done because it has a lot more frontage and my first 4Runner took a beating with many chips in the paint.
With the Maxima, I told the guy to do the entire car except the front fenders and hood pcs because did not want to see the lines of the clear bra across the fenders & hood. Wife doesn't put a lot of miles on the car and it is always garaged.
My point being is that for me the kits I purchased off of E-Bay were satifactory for me. If you are **** about it you will want to go with the laser cut clear bra, but be prepared to spend $500-$800 dollars to have the car done with all the pcs installed. I mean headlights, front A-Pillars, the whole 9 yards.
If it was me, I would rather have the front of the cars painted every 5+ years for $400. I got all three cars done for $900 which could be the cost of doing justone car.
Sorry this was so long but just wanted to give you my input and honest opinion.
