Wheel locks - Which ones fit?

Hey all, for the 2012 model with Sport Package 19inch wheels, which wheel locks fit? I got a set of Gorilla Guards, (link) changed one on each wheel out, and it appears to fit, but upon closer inspection, the wheel locks sit a bit further out than the stocks nuts. On comparison, both nuts are the same height, so theoretically, they should go back in to the same depth.
Also, looking in there, the first "hump" on the 60 degree angle, it fits very snugly against the wheels, leading me to assume that the locks are not sitting anywhere flush against the wheel, and that only that part of the lock that is holding the wheel on is that tiny hump I am talking about.

Rough diagram: Inside of wheel, 60degree Slant, bump part I am refering to, smaller section that says GORILLA on it, then the free spinning sleeve area, Outside.

If you click on my link, you can also see what I am talking about, I have the acorn styles, and Gorilla Guard style.

So my questions:
  • Does anyone have these and do you have any problems so far?
  • Should I change it out for the "Mag" style ones with the flat end? (These seem smaller on that inner part and, so maybe these are the correct ones?)
  • Is anything detrimental going to happen to my car if I leave it as is?
  • Pretending that the wheel is basically on only four lug nuts, will this be dangerous in the long run?

I do plan on changing them out soon, since I'm worried and OCD is starting to kick in, but since I am busy for the next week or so, and having seen a 7th gen Maxima on campus that has had it's wheels stolen, I am going to leave them on for the time being until I can do some more testing myself.
Any help or information between now and next week-ish would help me a lot.

Other thoughts:
I think the wheel is held on via the outside washers, I'll get a picture of them when I can, and try to clarify what I am talking about.
The wheel appears to have two flat surfaces, one on the washer part (again pictures are need huh..) and one on the very inner part that is closest to the hub. (again, pictures would help huh...)

After removing the wheel locks and going to the dealer to look at their wheel locks, it appears that I need the "mag type with washers", or something like 73621T on this page: LINK.
I do want the original gorilla guards, with the free spinning sleeve to prevent some well known tricks take unguarded wheel locks off, so perhaps I should try the standard mag styles and then figure out where or how to add washers or reuse the ones on the OEM ones? Again, any input would help me greatly.

Kinda glad I took off the old incorrect ones, my OCD was definitely bugging the hell out of me.

Other thoughts:
http://www.brandsport.com/grla-63621.html - These already come with washers, a bit more expensive.
Amazon does not have the mag styles...
I will have to do some measuring tomorrow and see if the ones on brandsport.com will be okay.

the OEM rims use acorn-style lugnuts. the mag-style are for rims like the 370z Rays that require a mag-style lug to hold them on

Thanks for the info.

Took me a while to reply, but these are the wheels I have:
http://forums.maxima.org/general-max...xima-rims.html (I have the first post's wheels as well)
I'm going to assume that these are "Rays"?

Here is a picture of my wheel lugs and the lugnuts:

I am just worried that the "mag" style will not hold correctly since there is no washer part. Thanks again.

I'm not positive the 2012 Max look-alikes are Rays, I think they might be Enkei (not sure though).

Looking at your picture though, it does look like your rim needs a mag-style lugnut to hold it. You can tell by that "shelf" around the lugnut where you can see the washer on the mag-style lugs will sit nicely and hold the wheel on. when i had my alignment done i drove over with acorn-style lugs on and the tech came in to the waiting room to tell me "you know your wheels would have flown off the car if you went around a turn hard, right?". i told him i had the mag-style in the passenger seat so go ahead and put them on

Yes, I am questioning what the style the stock lug nuts are so that I can purchase the correct wheel locks to put on the car.

The story goes like this:
I bought Gorilla Guard Acorn Style model 61621. Once I put them on the car, they were sitting further out than the stock ones, and also were slightly larger than the smaller "shelf area" in my pictures. This lead me to believe that the locks were not sitting flush against the wheels, and could at anytime, break and fly off the car. So, I returned them and am now on the market again for wheel locks by Gorilla, preferably the Gorilla Guard styles with the free rotating sleeve to prevent a well known trick to take off the locks.

I am questioning what type they are since it looks like a combination of both styles: On the inner end, they are acorn shaped, but obviously the ones I got did not fit on my car. So then they must be mag styles, since the mag styles have a smaller diameter shank area that, according to pictures, will fit just nicely in there. But mag styles do not come with that washer part seen in the stock lug nut photo, hence why I am so confused what the stock lug nuts are.

At any rate, I'm going to trust Ghozt and search around for the mag styles with washers. Hopefully, I can get them soon, as I already seen a Maxima at my college campus that has had it's wheels stolen. Granted, it was in a mostly deserted area where dorm residents park (therefore very easy target), but with my OCD, I prefer to be safe than to be sorry.

EDIT: After carefully re-reading the application guide here:
http://gorilla-auto.com/application-guide
I am now slightly more confused:
The guide states that mag styles use washers, but then why do some of the their offerings have washers and others do not? Is it because some are permanently attached, where others are removable or completely absent?
Whatever, I'll stick to what Ghozt said.

Thanks, I saw those, but I've been a bit too busy to actually call them; it does say call of availability after all. I will probably have to get on it Monday. Wish they just had a instock or not instock icon and a button to order immediately..

EDIT:
Can I add washers to the mag styles? Or is that a bad idea?

Don't freak out to much, odds are the other Maxima with stolen wheels was just crappy luck and not a wheel theft spree

I think they come with the washers, the washers should not come off, they are part of the lug nut

Alright, thanks for the responses everyone.
From what I have learned:
  • Acorn styles are, acorn shaped. They hold the wheel on with that 60degree acorn area.
  • Mag styles on the other hand have that narrower shank, but come with washers to hold the wheel on. Whether or not the washer is attached or not depends on the OEM designs, and it just happens that Nissan and Toyota decided it was best to avoid losing washers by permanently attaching them to the lug nut.
Learning something new everyday, even the most basic things such as a bolt and screw designs. Thanks everyone!

I ended up ordering OEM 370z McGard locks, they're very similar to our OEM Nissan ones just have the mag-style seat. this + Viper 5902 + tilt sensor + my baseball bat = good luck. they should come with washers though, cause when you tighten the lugnuts you dont want it scraping the hell out of the rim when they sit, you want it twisting against the washer
