And when you say "so far they got 8", you mean 8 people signed up on the list. Maxima owners are GREAT at saying "yes I want that" and signing up for lists. What Maxima owners are TERRIBLE at is following up with actually paying. This is why we have "feelers" for parts posted on here that go nowhere; nobody actually seriously really wants it - they're just saying they do for some reason...still have yet to figure out this mystery...

No doubt.
But what I want to know about is the torque? If it took away torque to get the HP gains that would be counter to what this car needs really needs more of....IMOP.
I heard we should be seeing some dyno graph results soon.

I'm sure you'd get good torque with the gain in hp. I doubt that you'd lose tq to gain hp.

Sorry I can't buy in Ghozt. I don't have the cash for this exhaust. I'm anxious to see the intake in store though. You got the scoop?

My guess is that they've found a way to mass produce your prototype CAI.

Could have sworn I read 10 tq gain.
I'm waiting for khoi to get back from vacation because I want to talk the logistics of driving down there to have AAM install it themselves.

Lol I was referring to the people who sign up for group buy lists but then don't follow through. No need to apologize.......

I'll tell you this much about the intake, it won't be a replica of my CAI due to the battery needing to be relocated. No company will probably ever make it since it requires that to install... I showed them a couple things obviously wrong with the design of the SRI's available for us, I'm hoping they come up with a complete shroud design that fits the OEM grill duct with a nice seal. a short ram true cold air intake would be vicious...

If you guys are barking about the cost of a true T304 SS cat-back for a grand, look at what the Z and G guys pay for a full T340 SS system. They're looking at 1100-1300 depending on the brand and system.

This is a fully hand-crafted and TIG welded system that sounds amazing and will NEVER rust. I understand that money is always a factor when it comes to modding cars, but sometimes you gotta pay a bit more for a quality product.

It's whatever at this point, the group buy is on hold.

"ok guys in concern to the AAM Competition Maxima exhaust, we've got good and bad news. Bad news: looks like we are canceling the group buy. Good news: we are regrouping to adjust the price (it seems like that's the biggest issue, handcrafted exhaust with top notch material.. we can't really compete with big guys who outsource most of their work but we're going to try to lower the price as much as possible). From there we will be offering the first 5 customers a deal (unknown at the moment) in return for a review. It would make most sense to get a few sets out first with reviews and go from there." ~ Khoi @ AAM

At least this company has the ***** to post this as most Companies don't care about it, if they don't get their money which they invested into the tooling and prototypes etc etc they back off and take it as a loss.

I agree with some it is pricey but you get what you pay for and I truly think these guys are being up front and honest. Sure they are making their cut but it is quality they are putting out. It is always though with new products but I'm sure once the reviews hit, they will have problems keeping up with orders as everyone will want one.

Just Ordered It!

Just spoke to Khoi from AAM (real nice guy) and ordered my exhaust with titanium tips. Should arrive in 2-3 weeks. Fabrication takes about a week, and delivery another week (i'm in CA and they're based in MD).

Just so you know... AAM is making and selling FIVE exhausts at a special price (in exchange for writing a review, posting pics, etc.). This looks like a killer deal on quality product.

I'll update you more when it arrives.

Damn that looks and sounds awesome, but just don't have the $1k to drop on an exhaust at the moment. Where can I buy this from, their website, or will it be available at others?

Wow this is an old thread... just wanted to update on the status of this exhaust. It will be shipped today or tomorrow. As soon as I get it I will install, post pics, and give it a review. Can't wait.

There is only 1 more exhaust to be sold at the discounted price of $925.

Check it out.

Jarohnimo - I plan to install it myself with a friend. Can use an extra set of hands 'cause I don't want to scratch it! I know ****... but scratched titanium tips would **** me off. Install should be fairly straight forward. Hopefully it's a true bolt-on with no modifications necessary... but you know how that goes. I think the hardest part is removing the bolts on the factory exhaust. We shall see. I will post comments when it's time. Yes I did place an order about a month ago. But they did not run my card until they shipped it. And they shipped it TODAY!

J.lee - I would hurry if you are serious about purchasing. I think there is only 1 more selling for $925.
