7th Gen AAM Prototype cat-back exhaust

At our local Infiniti/Nissan meet last Thursday a few guys from AAM showed up with an R33(drool) and a 7th gen Max with a new AAM designed prototype cat-back exhaust. All I'm going to say is that it's one of the nicest exhausts I've personally heard on the 7th gen - not too obnoxious but definitely low and powerful sounding. Ya boi may end up swapping off his Borla...

Now that is a great exhaust sound for this car.
I will continue to wait, watch, and listen for more info on this.

Again, good input Ghozt. Thanks.

No, just heard it from the outside. But GMTraitor3.5 rode in it and said the drone is very minimal.

With a 3" exhaust, keeping drone to a minimum is tough, especially with a V6 and a short resonator. I tell ya though, it's not too intrusive when talking with the person next to you. Above 3K RPM's, it kinda fades away.

if you hold tight, AAM is making an intake for the 7th gen Maxima next (as well as lots of other goodies I can't tell you about just yet). i let them know we need a complete shroud like the R2C just more complete, I'm curious what they'll develop

Best sounding exhaust I've heard so far.
My only concern jumping in and buying early is being bolt on. There seems to always be a direct bolt on issue when it's claimed to be ;(

....and that in itself brings up the issue of AAM's Return/Warrenty policies.
I have not heard or seen what they even are?

I wonder how these sound with the Racingline y-pipe and their exhaust setup ?

"guys stay tuned for the pics, today we took video comparisons with Jay's Stillen exhaust (which he removed Stillen's resonators and added a different one) and ours, from recording the video, it sounded very very similar, but I'll be completely honest, our mufflers/tips look way better lol sorry Stillen. Noise wise we were right there with Jay's car (he has intake too) and our test Maxima is bone stock minus our catback!

It is the whole system stainless steal , IE Mufflers, Tips etc etc ?
A little concerned for the people who drive in winter conditions through the year.

I will be interested in this I like the sound, but the vid does not give a good copy of it, there should be more passes and a audio of it while you are in the car. The price is still pretty high even if you get 10+ people.

Any questions would best be directed to the company themselves. Here is their website if you want to check them out. http://aamcompetition.com/

They usually work on GT-R's only, so the quality of their work isn't in question. I was mostly posting this up so people could hear the new exhaust and just see that vendors haven't exactly forgotten us. The more support we show, the more parts that could possibly come out.

Ghozt, sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone.
I just wanted to know some specifics, when stillen release their exhaust setup most people were game for the sound and (at the time) quality of work. Now to the present people are finding out some part of the stillen exhaust started to rust a little.

AAM looks like a great company especially if they work on GTR's only, but when you want to shell out $1049.00+ for an cat back exhaust, people are going to question things. The past dictates future and hopefully the present and future of AAM exhaust will be awesome. Not all of us live in the US and for the people who do not live in the U.S.A and want this exhaust will have to pay a premium in shipping charges to get this. For me I expect shipping charges will be in excess of $300.00+ dollars with tarrif/boarder/duty fees. So that price jumps up quite abit.

Thank you for putting this up on the board, and I didn't mean any disrespect to you. In any case I like the sound of the exhaust. Their is a vid up with comparison of a stock car with their exhaust and another car with modded with stillen exhaust here:

What do you guys think ?

Oh you didn't disrespect me at all bro, sorry if it came across that way. I just meant that since AAM isn't on this forum the best way to get complete answers to your questions about their product is to contact them directly. The modded car with Stillen and a dynomax resonator is GMTraitor3.5's car, he went up to the shop to check out the product after I told him I heard it at a meet and he was raving to me about it and the build quality. They've been doing some dyno pulls to get our infamous CVT gains (not 100% accurate as everyone knows but a very close estimation of gains throughout the power band).

Selling points vs stock,
1. Weight savings (4lbs).
2. Better material.
3. Sound.
4. Appearance.

Did I miss anything?

+1 for the car on the left of the Video..Both sound nice to be honest. Can't knock on modded cars, its personal preference. Then again, mine sounds similar without those 2 exhaust systems on it!
