Stillen intake question
Stillen intake question
So I just installed the intake....I noticed that stillen didn't send the piece that houses the cone. The cone is just sitting there all open in the engine bay. I thought that this was needed to attach to the stock air duct? Did they discontinue using this piece? Did they make a mistake?

Doesn't sound like Stillen. Don't tell me...another Ebay purchase gone wrong again.
Edit ....Sorry my mistake, I believe the Stillen does just sit in the open without an enclosure and sucks hot air into the engine.

But I've seen other cars with the same intake and others have the housing around the cone. Did stillen change the design recently?
R2C intake has a partial housing (or shroud) that connects to the stock intake. Not sure about all the others.
To my knowledge the only way to have a non-stock CAI is a custom
do-it-yourself set-up and this has been done by a limited number of 7th gen owners.
IMOP, a drop in K&N filter is your best bet for the stock set-up as it still is "technically" a cold air intake!
Hey, just contact them and see what may have happened.
Stillen could have dropped that feature...I don't know for sure.
I do remember seeing it on prior versions of their intake though.
Try and post pictures if you can?
