0-60 and 1/4 Mile Times for the 7th Gen...
Before you say it..... (Have mercy Mods ) I know we have a Discussion for Track times however i'm interested in only knowing Track times for 7th Generations (in respects to the CVT transmission). Please also list your Modifications...
Anyone in the 12 Second range?
Stock 7th Gen = 0-60 mph 5.7 Quarter mile 14.3 according to zeroto60 website.

I've wondered the same thing. And when I googled "0 to 60 times" I've only found one website that seems clear and concise, although I wish it was more complete. (zeroto60times.com). Anyone have a better resource for looking that kinda thing up?

With that said I'm open to all you youngsters doing what ever you think you can do to hot rod this car.

The current setup on the 7th gen Maxima does not lend itself to great 0 to 60 times. That is for two reasons: (1) this is a heavy, sporty, near-luxury family sedan, not a sports car, and (2) Nissan probably wanted to play it safe with this CVT until they knew exactly what they had.
But 0 to 60 times are the most overrated and meaningless measurement we can have. That is measuring something we do not encounter in any reasonable driving situation. By contrast, measuring 40 to 60, 20 to 40, 40 to 80, etc, times is very meaningful, because these apply to passing situations where our lives can be at stake.
This 7th gen Maxima is the fastest car from 40 to 80 of any car I have ever driven, and I have owned all Maxima generations except the first. It absolutely takes my breath away.

Hmmm well zeroto60 site must be off cuz u added two mods and its still slower then what they say the stock should do... Do u have 19" rims?
0-60 may not be as meaningful as the other times but if u go to the race tracks its everything! Along with the 1/4 mile time.... I love the tracks...
I'm suprised that as much as I searched the web I can't find many 7th gens going down the track... It's been out since 09 and all the 5, 6 dominate the tracks...
Im interested in seeing some more times.. pls also include qtr mile and mods... Salstar.. what's ur qtr mile time?

Not that many folks outright buy a $35k car new or 20K car used to beat it up on the track.
Give the 7th gen a few more years where many have had 3rd or 4th owners and the price is well under 10K and you'll get a ton more at the track times, etc.
So thinking it through this way, it's not that surprising after all.

Very understandable .. I do see a lot of people on here making mods to there ride... Just would be nice to c what benefit the mods have made.... I've seen some previousvgens do 10 in qrt mile

I am confounded that people that buy a FWD car feel compelled to make modifications to it to go faster or handle better. A RWD would be more suitable for that purpose. I like my car just the way it is when I bought her (had Corvette's, Saab's and BMW's which served their puprose) Other than putting better tires to replace the Goodyear RS-A everything in my car stays the same.

I do agree though that this car is a nice ride even without trying to upgrade it.

Stock 09 Maxima 0-60 in 6 or 6.1 seconds and quarter mile in 14.7, from motor trend, could improve with mileage cause Nissans if taken care of feel faster with 20k on them

Just to be curious- if you want 0-60 time why not buy a nice sports car? For the 30-40k on a maxima you can get a great sports car. The maxima was not designed to be raced. That why Nissan has the 370, 370 Nismo, and gtr.
Trust me when u say I looked at most every car in that price range within a 3 year used and or new. With that cash I can go down a list of cars that will burn a maxima. I bought a car that fit my needs and was designed very well with that purpose.
Also not track test but I do believe that the car is overstated with the above 0-60 times. I do agree with the "roll on" times. My car leaps when cruising @30/40mph then getting on it. Call me an old man, but it still puts a smile on my face.
"note" this is my 4th in 3 generations and love the 7 the best.
Mods - Stillen front and roof lips, Stillen CAI.

Maxima can do more then the long list of cars that have faster 0-60, I needed slightly more versatility then say a 370 or Mustang, if I want to go fast and make others feel insignificant I use my FX50, I usually wait until a 350 or G35 tries to pass me and then I punch it, they don't know what hit them

smh
It's kinda funny when u make a topic discussing the 0-60 / qrt mile time of a specific car and someone tells u its not sports car :matt93se: lol
If I wanted anogher car I woulda got one... + 350 and 370z are butt @ss ugly... Look like a damn bug, and I'm way too big to get myself in and out that midget mobile... 300z looked better... Those lil VW GTI looking meep meep mobile's ain't for everyone.... I'm sure 3/4th of the people who have purchased the max has done it cuz they were fans like me... Not cuz its a sports sedan.. it a good looking eye catching car like the Acura TL ... Way much more appealing then the G35 and 37.. I think those rides are boring looking

I agree ...I originally had a Nissan stanza and have been a fan of the maximas ever since.. plus let's not forget they are dependable rides... Almost 300k miles on my first and it never died .. donated it to charity
Confounded? Fwd, rwd, awd, doesn't matter. There's nothing strange about wanting your car to be faster or look better than it was stock. You buy a car that meets your needs, and then make it the best it can be! For me, I wanted four doors (carseat), fwd (awd woulda been ok too--for snowy winters), quick sporty luxury. That's what I got. Now I'm just making it sound/look/feel improved from stock.
I do agree though that this car is a nice ride even without trying to upgrade it.

I'm surprised there are no reports on times!!!!!!
I want to bump this thread
As mentioned above, by this time, our 7th gen max are "track ready" (meaning, it is now worth taking the risk )
I hope to see other folks sharing their experience (me too in the near future)

I'm a new member here and I just purchased my 2014 SV on last week. I was going to take it to the dragstrip here just for ****s and giggles to see what kind of times it will lay down. I have a 2008 ISF as well so its a worlds different as far as performance, but whats crazy is that Im digging the max a lot. when I go I will keep everyone in the loop as to my times. Im not looking for this car to run low 14s probably mid to high 14s. I will def post time slips!!

After 2 weeks of owning this car and spending a lot of seat time, I feel that the CVT is this cars weak point and one of the reasons its not a great performer when it comes to this type of performance. I love the car so far and it does exactly what I need it to do, but I think for this car to be considered a 4 door sports car again Nissan has to change some things. I think its just sporty looking but not performance oriented at all, but that's just my opinion. With that said I will be enjoying it for what it was made for ..looking good while driving in comfort......I might drag it once or twice though just to see...

Heat, rims, and altitude play a factor too, even gas weighs 6 pounds a gallon the least....motor trend measured it at 5.8 sec. Try on an empty tank and without your buddy in the passenger seat.....just download a free 0-60 app lol. Go at night too, can't be 95 degrees at night.

I've only had my 2014 SV a couple of weeks but have to agree with most of what's been said here. It is actually deceptively fast/quick, has a strikingly good 80 - 120 time...on the track of course. Brutal torque steer, makes it kind of fun. All in all, it is not all that far off in performance from my 93 RX-7, which is just stupid fast...on the track of course.

So before inheriting my mother in law's 2009 SV, I've always had Mopars of one kind or another. Two that come to mind as I drive the Maxima are my '06 Charger and my '97 Neon ACR. The Charger had a Hemi V8... so it was pretty quick. The Maxima isn't quite that quick, but it is very pleasing to my lead foot.
The Neon had the factory racing package (ACR). It was the normal 2.0L 4cyl, so it wasn't as fast as the V8's of the time. But that thing drove like it was on rails... I lost many a Mustang by taking freeway interchange ramps at stupid obscene speeds (80+ mph). Yeah, I was young and extremely stupid back then!
There's no way I'd push the Maxima around curves like that, but handling-wise it feels more like the Neon than the Charger. Nice tight steering.
