Locked Trunk - Confused

Hey everyone. I decided to disable the trunk open feature using the switch in the glove compartment. I then locked the glove box and the small pass-through in the rear seat using the key. I tried using the trunk open feature on the left side of the steering wheel. Nada. Perfect right?

When I go outside my car and try to open the trunk using my keyfob it won't open. Strange? Also, I tried using the button beneath the chrome trim (with keyfob in hand) and Nothing! Does this mean that every time I want to open the trunk, I have to unlock the glove box and flip the switch? That would suck! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That is correct. The switch in the glove box is intended for when you give your car to a valet. It disables the interior switch, the outside switch and remote fob button. You lock the glove box and them give the valet just the fob with the vehicle key and other keys removed. Works the same way with my 2010 Lexus IS.

You keep the key give the valet the fob and your trunk and it contents are safe!

Reason I asked is that my car got broken into. They only got away with about $20 bucks in cash and change which I keep there for bridge tolls and emergencies. They could have opened the trunk using the switch, but they didn't thankfully! Now I'm so paranoid (had my HK USP in the trunk) that I wanted to disable the trunk open function. Thought that if I had my keyfob I'd be able to open the trunk from the outside. Guess not. Thanks guys for your help!

Put the HK on your hip for added "trunk protection".

It's where I carry mine.

Or get a lock box with a cable and attach it to the frame of your seat to lock it when you aren't in the car. It's good for holding spare cash as well as a firearm and additional magazine.
