Maximas ester oil

Has anyone taken their maxi to the dealer for the recommended ester oil change? How much does the dealer cost for an oil change on our max? I'm deciding to take mine in tomm, and wanted to get a rough estimate from u folks.

The Esther oil has been discussed a bazillion times here. I'll tell you what you need to do: just change your oil with a fully synthetic and don't worry about it. Half the time the dealer won't even use a special Esther oil if you don't specifically tell them to. The Esther is more expensive than necessary. Mobil1 has Esther additives in it anyway.

But to answer your question about how much they'll charge....I don't know. Sorry. Lol

odds are you may tell the service writer ester but the tech will put regular, so your paying 100bucks for regular, that happened to me

regular oil change 35 with tax roughly what most nissan dealers charge, synthetic, probably 70 with tax

Since I bought my '09 almost four years ago, my dealer has used Shell dino oil at each change without even mentioning ester, and charges around $30 for an oil change. This meets all warranty requirements, and works fine for my non-stressful type of driving.

I have run two different Maximas over 200K miles each in Atlanta traffic on nothing but dino oil with no problems. But if I was still driving in that kind of traffic with this 7th gen, I think I would go to either a blend (dino and synthetic) or full synthetic.

I would not consider Nissan's special ester oil unless I was running elapsed time sprints at the track, or drove under extreme conditions. Even then, full synthetic might be just as good as Nissan's special ester oil.

I run dino oil in all my vehicles. Change it 1,000 miles and then every 5,000 miles thereafter. No problems. Still have my 97 4Runner & 03 Maxima.
