Stillen lip price

Hey guys, getting close to purchasing the stillen lip. Pretty sure most people are buying straight from the website, is that true? Listed online around $265? Lemme know if you'd suggest buying anywhere else for a better price, otherwise I'm just gonna buy straight from stillen tomorrow. Thanks.

So many people looking for one (myself included) on the secondary market, and very little supply means a long and futile search. I'd just order direct and get it done.

I only wish Stillen would offer a painted version to cut out the hassle of having to get that done. Unless they do and I'm not aware of it.

Pardon the thread jack.

Took the plunge, bought the Stillen lip and decided to get eibach springs from them as well. So far so good on the customer service! They've been very good so far (despite what I've heard). Hopefully the parts ship by the end of today or tomorrow. $265.44 for the lip. Shipping: Free! Woot! I will have to ship it back to my place in Hawaii, but I save a good $100 doing that.

Any insight on putting it on? I know definitely clean the surfaces and what not with at least rubbing alcohol. It'll be another two weeks or so but can't wait to drop my baby and start scratching that lip up, lol!

I just ordered my lip as well. Definitely a most do mod to our cars. It adds a very aggressive look to our maxs. Mine coasted me 267 with free shipping.

A little late but thanks!

Also, how long did it take for Stillen to ship for you guys that ordered? I ordered Monday afternoon. Still no email about them being shipped out.

Pardon the Bump.

So I got a quote at a shop just a few minutes ago, $400 just for the prep work (washing, sanding, molding) and painting.

What did everyone else pay?

I payed $150 to paint the lip. Eibach springs install should be around $200. Anything more their just ripping you off.

I figured it should only cost about $150. I saved on the eibachs by putting those in on my day off with a friend.

I hope this $400 pricetag isn't one of these "Island exclusive deals."

Heh, my friend gave me the idea to just vinyl wrap the thing... hahaha might not be a bad idea.

I was originally going to vinyl wrap it..My guy in Long Island tried to stick it to the front lip but it doesnt stick unless painted. I recommend getting the color you want..and then if you wanna vinyl it a different color to get 2 colors for the "price of one" then that would be a good idea. Obviously you'll pay for both the paint and vinyl..but you avoid the hassle of colors after.

I see. That's good to know, Guido, thanks! Do you think vinyl will stick after a primer coat?

I'm gonna grab a few more quotes but if it's more of the same I'll weigh out shelling it out or painting it myself. I'm really interested in the vinyl idea though.

Painting it shouldn't cost much, 100-150. I know it's a pain to add another cost on top of buying it, but get it painted and just install it yourself with the instructions from Stillens website. It is worth it.

It might work with the primer..I didn't try it though because I figured If I get it painted for $150, I could just at the moment put it on my car (like Ghozt says..is very simple to do with another person to install). And if it got chipped I promised myself I would just Vinyl it after to save some money.

In my area everyone wanted to rip me off 250+ to paint the lip..I was like since when does painting the lip cost more than the actually lip haha. So, I went to my friend who did it for $150.

My Vinyl guy said that you could probably primer it yourself & do a decent paint job yourself as well and then get it professionally vinyl wrapped for about $100 or less.

Let me know what you decide!

I figured as much. $400 sounded like an insanely high amount. $150 or bust! Thanks Jbling, Ghost, Guido.

I purchased the Stillen Lip and side skirts a few months back, it cost me about $760 shipped and I had to cross the boarder to pick it up. Since I live in Canada, I'm also wondering how much it will cost me to get it painted, as my paint is white pearl. I haven't gotten around to doing anything at the moment as it is winter now here and not sense getting anything done until next year spring time rolls around.

You picked it up in the US? Why so much?? I'm in Canada too, which is why I ask.

I don't know if this is still the case, but I used to ship Mercedes parts to our Canadian friends a few years back, and then they changed the freight rules such that ground shipping was no longer available for security reasons.

So the only alternative was air shipping, and for a bulky object like a body kit, it was insanely expensive. And then DHL went under, so the carrier options were limited.

I might be in the minority here but does anyone have pics of stillen lip on their car just as it came from stillen? black I thought it would look nice but not so sure. I couldn't find any decent pics. That's why I'm still on the fence about buying.

I took some shots during fitting but nothing from far away unfortunately.

It looks good. Lucky for me, fitting was snug and the lines were pretty even all the way around.

You probably could just slap it on but you'll see all the imperfections in the urethane. One thing I considered doing was going ahead and cleaning the bumper off (hot bath, sanding) then maybe plasti-dip & glossifier or paint for an even black coat. But I really wanted it painted. Ended up finding a place that gave me a decent price ($200).

Anyway, up to you. It's not a bad idea and I could have sworn I saw another member on the forums with a black lip (it was painted though).

Haha, you know it The door to the garage was right here so getting that shot required me to basically put the camera against the door.

Sorry, no other pics. I really should have thought about that... oh well. Hopefully my lip is done by next week! I'm pretty excited.
