Siri and Bluetooth

Has anyone figured out how to use Siri through the built in Bluetooth system? I can get it to work if I press the home button on my iPhone but I'd like to be able to activate Siri without having to pick up my phone.

Don't think it's possible right now. Gotta use the home button. A dedicated Siri button will be coming to some new cars soon, don't know if that'll include Nissan in the beginning though. For now, gotta push the button on the iPhone still.

Update on iPhone 5

Just discovered a new problem today. Got an iPhone 5 and on incoming calls, it comes right through the car as it should but I can't hear the caller even though they can hear me. If I call out, everything works fine.

Update: loaded the latest software update to iOS 6 and the problem went away.

Depends on how you answer/place the call. Make sure that if you answer the call you do it using the buttons on the car. If not, then after answering press the button that says "audio source" (I think) and make sure the one selected is your car. Then use the car's volume to adjust to the level you like.

If you just push answer on the phone itself, it won't actually be connecting the call through the Bluetooth.

Did you ever get a good fix for this? I just got an iPhone 5 and have the same issue. I'm answering via the audio controls and can't hear the caller. Even if I quickly unlock the phone and check the output source, it says it's set to the Maxima (vs. Phone or Speaker). The phone is plugged in via the USB cable.

I need to fiddle with it a bit more, but am stumped so far. It's really annoying. My old " dumb" flip phone world without a problem.

Are you on the latest version of iOS6? The phone I believe comes with 6.0.0 loaded. When I updated to 6.0.1 the problem went away all thought it has happened a couple time since but most of the time it works fine. On Tuesday of this week I updated to 6.0.2 which was just released by apple. I hope that further improves this. It hasn't happened since I went to 6.0.2 but I've only received a few calls but so far so good.

Jailbreak your iPhone and install "Hands-Free Control" in cydia. It's in the bigboss repo and compatible with iOS 4 & 5

It enables you to activate Siri by saying "Siri". Not perfect, but works.

Just have your Bluetooth enabled and connected of course, and set Siri to turn on when phone is raised and it will activate through the Bluetooth, there is like a 1 to 2 sec delay, but it works I hardly use it though....

Yes, I'm on the latest OS version. I did find that I'd the phone is not plugged into the USB cable in the car it will work properly. But I usually have it plugged it so it's still an issue.
